:D You've gotta love Owen Jones. He'd do anything to see Labour lose. Even resorting to a classic boardin' Jonah.

Not sure I trust Owen Jones on this - I’m supposed to just take his word for it that he’s gonna just stop being a cheerleader for Starmer and start criticising him? I’ll believe it when I see it

Another friend of James O’Brien, what a nightmare it would be to get trapped overnight in s ski lift with those two, awful prospect. ‘In the bag’ he says? Incredibly naive. Obvious was still playing on swings when Kinnock did his famous Sheffield Rally.

I would like to see a certain East London MP charged with rape on the run up to the next Election. That would screw Sleazy Richy's Party nicely.
Romford will still vote Tory.

I believe Andrew Rosidell is still going to be the tory candidate for Romford, even though hes an alleged child rapist and sex abuser ( though not charged at this moment in time).
He will still win in Romford. A donkey could be the tory candidate in Romford and it would win

When I moved to Romford in 1999 it had a Labour MP.

Another pair of big wins for Sir Keir

Mid Beds being Tory for the last 93 years and is the biggest majority ever overturned in a by-election after Labour lost the seat by 24,664 votes last election

Wonder if MPs like Dorries look at themselves in the mirror on a morning like this and go “Wow, I’m reeeeeaaally sh*t at my job. Maybe I should try harder”. Probably too busy negotiating their fee for the next series of Celebrity Clown School.

I'll take "no, they absolutely don't" for 100 points, please.

Appalling turnouts in both by-elections, remains to be seen if that many Tory voters are actually switching to Labour or just staying at home.

Maybe the grand irony of cutting all services to the bone will be that the Old Daily Mail Nazis won’t actually be able to transport themselves to the voting booths.

PJ hit the nail on the head. Most dedicated Tory voters stayed at home, rather than vote for 'the enemy'

Come the General Election, they'll be back voting for their own people again.

Having said that, the Tories look like theyre certs to lose the GE, though not by as many seats as these two by-election results would suggest

Low turnout or not, these were supposed to be two of the safest Tory seats going. This is like the Tories winning Hammersmith or Bristol.

In mid-bedfordshire they managed to lose despite a pretty big lib dem vote splitting the anti Tory vote. It's easy to imagine those voters rallying around labour at the GE now that they've shown they are the best placed party to beat the Tories.

Even if people aren't enthusiastic about Labour, I'm still surprised by how deep the hate for the Tories seems to be going.
