Good decision by the organizers....pity the crufts & cheltenham organizers wernt so astute
Crufts insists it's acting on advice from the World Health Organisation so blame them

Not that I believe the conspiracy stuff. But Thor did call this right back on the 26th February. Probably a lucky guess.

Frankly, if you don't believe the conspiracy stuff, don't repeat it - you're not doing anyone any favours.

In the article it literally says: "This is not yet a coronavirus vaccine — at this stage it is a "vaccine candidate" that could still prove to be ineffective during several steps and test phases."

Basically, no different from where many scientists are in many places worldwide, then.

Giving oxygen to these crackpot ideas (apart from the sad spectacle of witnessing someone who desperately needs to be right on the internet) undermines the important and accurate information that is out there. People are dying from this FFS, why do you need to do that??

As ever, Marina Hyde manages to give us a laugh along with an observant summary of pandemic panic. And she’s onto Thor’s whacky conspiracy theory too:

The likes of Thortwat carp on with their conspiracy theories ( there was an interesting Horizon programme that highlighted how whacky theories were enjoyed far more than the more mundane sensible hypothesis ). Perhaps the alarming spread of this virus has been assisted by Global warming. No good going down that route, far too many vested interests.

Have to admit that was quite enjoyable and someone has clearly taken a lot of effort with it, slightly annoying they are claiming that RT-PCR stands for real time polymerase chain reaction though.

Taken me about 15 minutes to find the sources for most of it in more reputable publications and to see how it's been twisted into such nonsense. The true (albeit unconnected) stories of controversial experiments and intellectual property theft are actually more interesting in my opinion.

As Spain joins Italy and other countries on a lockdown, it’s interesting to think whether that will help more than the UK & US approach to slow the viral spread and deaths. This bloke, the NYT science journo, had an interesting take on what’s required (and why China has got on top of the problem at the mo). Worth 6 mins of your time...as you’ve probably got nothing better to do anyway:

Mao and Stalin showed that it was also 'expendable' under communism.

Is that just another made up fake news by metro
Considering there stating that’s him in the photo still holding 2x24 bog rolls I’d say those who believe it are the ones being mugged here
