25k cases and 492 new deaths reported today. What should it have been according to the data model?
What we need to knew is the number of deaths from respiratory disease higher than normal. If not these figures cannot be true.
The mass testing means that there are many false positives, the government have not released the figures for the false positives. In normal circumstances this is around 2.8%, but with so many different tests, this may be significantly higher. Therefore even a 10% result, may be meaningless. Today's results showed only 8% positive, against 25-35% in April.
The October figures for respiratory disease were normal for the time of year. Hospitals are also normal in terms of numbers ill for this time of year.
The figures quoted in the lockdown speech were already superceded by the same group and Whiitty and Valliance had access to the updated model.
OFCOM has prevented media outlets from reporting differing views on covid. Even facebook and twitter take down anything that goes against government views.
So what is going on?

What do you think is going on, please?
I appreciate everyone has a high passion, personal opinion on all of this - but i'm really tired of reading 'This doesn't all stack up' paragraphs followed by those five words at the bottom. What do you think is the reason?

I’ve seen the number online, was somewhere below 400 (highest number of deaths on a Thursday since May).

Good spot. I thought the figures I'd quoted last night were the latest figures published on coronavirus.data.gov.uk, but obviously were a day out. Latest figures are just over 24k cases and 378 deaths,

The ONS survey suggests that the rate by which the virus is spreading is decreasing.
23k cases and 355 new deaths reported today. Second consecutive day that these have fallen.

They had the data for a month and didn't spot the errors? Why present deaths projections if it's hospital admissions that are most important?

Just 1 person in every 190,000 in UK (355 people) died 'With Covid' today.
1,600 died of other things - as they do every day.
And 68,000,000 of us are Locked Down.

It wasn't a question of spotting errors or even presenting something that the general public could reasonably be expected to understand. They knew exactly what they were presenting and defended it to the Select Committee on Weds.
To quote Theresa May:
It looks like "the figures have been chosen to support the policy rather than the policy being based on the figures".

What a strange mish-mash of statistics. Assuming that 1,600 number is right though, you don't think nearly 25% more deaths than an average day merits action?
Or if you want to present statistics as comparisons, almost exactly five times more people were reported in one day as having died following a Covid diagnosis yesterday than the 7/7 bombings in London - except the latter happened just once and the former is happening every day at the moment.

Er, it's your data. You said "1,600 died of other things - as they do every day" - if you're questioning your own data then fine, all I did was a bit of basic mathematics (355 is just under a quarter of 1,600).
