The UK will never freeze Russian assets over here etc because those monies and assets are now so fundamental to our economy that it would hit the UK far worse than Russia.
But if we confiscated them and made them our assets would that mean there was no change to the economy?
What's wrong with a housing market price correction and lower rents.

Is Tim a landlord by any chance?

He's wrong anyway. Speccy git.

Be good to see the UK Government (and the EU) give an asylum guarantee to Ukrainian citizens who arrive

I know, wishful thinking.

Given that Ukraine has now lost control of their airspace what is the reason NATO cannot provide air support?

(Answers without making reference to WW3 please)

Is it that they're not a Nato member so there is no provision in the treaty to do so?

Surely they could sell them some air defence weaponry.

I should've said NATO members, unilaterally

Bit late for that given Russia has taken Antanov Airport

Have we considered the possibility that Putin has lost his f*cking mind? He knows this isn’t going to end well for anyone, yet he’s pushing onwards. f*cking lunacy.

Innit. There's now murmerings about a part of Moldova wanting to break away too. That's probably Putin's encore.

It’s my main concern. His words have been strong and without care. Probably not true, but right now it doesn’t feel like it would take a lot for this to escalate further.

Confirmed: European utilities are set to buy tomorrow more Russian natural gas (from Gazprom) via Ukraine pipelines.

FFS. This is the problem. There is no immediate alternative. Germany and others were warned that this would happen, but have sleep walked into this situation.

We live in a World that is now dedicated to a single Global Market, with products and supplies coming from anywhere in the World. This doesn't fit well into the new Nationalism/Fascism as we're all now totally dependent on other Countries for the products and supplies we need. All it ever needed was for some madman to come along and upset the delicate balance. We're all going to be hugely impacted by this but I mostly pity the poor sods in Ukraine.

Non NATO member state has invaded a non NATO member state. It's a weird 'but what about the yanks' moment in the midst of a statement supposedly condemning an unprovoked act of war.

You do know what the Yanks were up to in Ukraine don't you?

Where are they now with their army?
