Everything in your life is linked in some way with someone being successful in business , and that includes your football club. The tax revenues that all companies generate fund public services. The dividends of successful companies fund your pension. If you can think of another way of doing it , let everyone know

What percentage of cases are acquired through commuting?

You don't know do you?
And neither do you so you can't disprove what he's saying. Next!
I do, the statistics are widely available

Very cute though
I await the link then. TIA.

Why is it my job to reference for someone you're White Knighting for? Guess you're too thick to have heard about burden of proof

Nah, I just know you're full of BS. There's no accurate data on numbers of Covid infections from commuting. Come on prove me wrong and I'll apologise.

I know that it is difficult to see the logic in any of these measures, particularly for me , but take this example.
I can’t go into a pub or restaurant with my friends and spend money in London , but we can all jump on a plane , fly to Italy , get as drunk as we like for two weeks, fly back , and not have to quarantine ????

Nice try, but as you've obviously just seen the relevant data in this rather long report, I'm sure we'd all appreciate it if you could point out the section to look at. TIA.

Hopefully they've learnt their lesson after f*cking about for too long in Feb and March and didnt lockdown until it was effectively too late.

Saying that, i haven't got a f*cking clue what their logic right now nor do i have any faith that they know.
They don't know. They are playing politics with proles lives by ignoring the advice of their scientific health advisors. They knew 3 weeks go the second wave had started and and lockdown was required.

However, the economy must be kept going to produce profits for the rich. Workers lives are expendable and always have been. Why do i have to keep telling youse this. FFS!
Would the workers not lose their jobs if the economy was just ignored? And yes I know a lot have.
It's not protect lives or the economy. It's both.

Nobody needs to lose their job. The BofE could use QE/print money and protect jobs just like they did to save the banks. HTH.

Hmm. So that shows what exactly? That doesn't show whether anyone picked up the virus, or not, from commuting? How could it? Are you trying to say that it's proven that commuting is 100% safe or what?

You really are full of it. Thicko.

That commuting makes up a small fraction (if any) of transmission.

It literally does, can't you read?

No, but nice straw man

None of those articles prove anything. Aside from that the second most viral infections picked up in the study were at work.

Commuting and then sitting in workplaces with other people can only encourage the spread of virus'. It's no coincidence that one of the biggest commuter belts into London is now in Tier 2. :)

There is a serious point about the travel situation though. My friends , their family, and their close friends all travelled to Italy to attend their daughters wedding. They cancelled the wedding in England because of the restrictions. 50 friends and family went for 1-3 weeks. Drinking everyday and spent 30k on the wedding .
All of this could have been spent propping up UK business.
The last group returned this week with no quarantine.
How can that be fair.

Looking at the data on the ONS it appears that the second wave has now peaked? Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as the first wave.

Looks like this was only true for the day we went into march lockdown, when there were 3k I'm hospital, but this rose to 17k in April. It's around 4k right now.
