For a powerful military country, taking a smaller weaker country is not difficult, but when he has his way, will Putins troubles start.
Ukrainians will fight a guerrilla war, against Russia, terrorism will be used constantly, and Russia will not have an easy ride
I hope the Wests response will be more pro active when Putin attacks the Baltic States who are NATO members, because our lily livered reaction to this is quite pathetic

This is going to be very bloody. The Russians have never shown any consideration for casualties. Much of their weaponary and tactics are left over from the Cold War. Expect mass indescriminate bombing with ‘dumb’ weapons. Expect whole towns to be destroyed just to take out one target.

I read a book called 1940 The World In Flames. In it, the point is strongly made, that Neutrality, doesn't really help you unless you are Swedish. It is a cowardly and pretty inept way of looking after your Nation's interests. Talk to to the Belgians, Dutch, Danes & Norwegians. As this Board shows, there are Bully Boys everywhere. You gotta look after your own interests. If you are small, club up with like minded people. But you gotta stand up to Bullies, stick your head above the parapet. Because once a Bully has whacked one, they will carry on until they get a bloody nose

This map is being shared by the European Council on Foreign Relations, and indicates where initial missile strikes are reported to have occurred this morning. It's still being verified, but some of these look a bit too close to NATO member borders for my liking.

I haven’t had time to trawl through all 18 pages but if it hasn’t been mentioned before I commend to you a really interesting but troubling read of Catherine Benton’s book “Putin’s People”. Written in 2020 it is an enlightening and alarm work that documents Putin’s rise to power and the people round him. This was inevitable, as further incursions will be. Bill Browder’s books are also well worth a read.

Invest in information, knowledge and understanding.
Bombs won't rein down on the UK, attacks will be at cyber level. Putin has practiced this in Estonia and even Ireland & Germany. The methods are there to hit transport with simply playing about with traffic lights, keeping them one colour. More alarmingly, hitting water purification could leave tap water unsafe. There is so much more he can do, use your own imagination.
The UK will never freeze Russian assets over here etc because those monies and assets are now so fundamental to our economy that it would hit the UK far worse than Russia.
That is why, he will get away with this for now. Then, given time he will make another play somewhere else. He is getting on now, so one can hope he will be gone sooner rather than later.

They make a bit of noise about urging removal of Russian forces. But the majority of their statement is condemning and blaming "USA, Britain and other NATO powers."
Isn't it strange how their views are so closely aligned with the likes of Farage and Candace Owens? I wonder what the connection could be?

But who can say that things like this would stop with his death though? He's certainly not going to be kicked out of power anytime before he dies, so plenty of time to handover to a similar minded succssesor.
