On the day in 1997, Labour won 418 seats in the General Election, giving them a majority of 179.

In their worst election defeat since 1906, the Conservatives retained just 165 MPs, with their smallest share of the vote since 1832.

Back at a time when they listened and understood what voters wanted with leadership people believed could deliver. Now they are more interested in telling the electorate what they think they should want. And yet to elect a leader that generates confidence that they could even deliver that.

It's just a pity that he had to turn Labour into Red Tories to do it.

The problem Labour lefties just don’t get. Keep peddling the momentum stuff and the party won’t get elected. It’s not about what a few fanatics want, it’s about what the electorate want. Something Labour have long since forgotten. Something Blair understood clearly.

Produce policies that are acceptable to people and Labour may get elected. It’s the people that matter, not the stuff peddled by a few fanatics.

This is not complex. People don’t exist for the sake of the party.

What people do is get all wound up in their own rhetoric. In case you haven’t noticed, sleaze is not limited to the Tories and the average Joe out there understands this. Bullying, lies (sorry honest mistakes), beergate. All just as bad, they are as bad as each other.

The policy of relatives dying alone was sensible, if we'd done it sooner a lot less would have died. Be angry Boris had a party, but the policy in place was right.

Excuses. And the lie that what’s her face wasn’t there until the video footage, it then becomes and honest mistake. Bullying, an honest mistake etc. open your eyes. I’m no apologist for the Tories, let alone Boris who I despise. But continue to fool yourself. So much sh*t from all parties of late. Grow up. What we are talking about is degrees of sleaze. That is pretty damned obvious.

I’m sure somewhere I said Momemtum! That lot of the too far left.

Hearing rumours Blair is advising Starmer. Need to look into that to make sure it’s not just another nothing story. Sort of left of centre.
