Vaccine seems like a fantasy, after reading that.

Not surprised. Aside from the concern about any vaccine that has been rushed to market, it would still take a time to manufacture, distribute and then administer.

Still, our government has said that the strategy is to suppress Coronovirus until a vaccine is available.

The longer it takes the more we will have to learn to live with it. These restrictions can't be sustained without serious consequences

National debt as a proportion of GDP was 69.6% when the Tories came into coalition government in 2010, and had risen to 86.4% by 2015 when they became a majority government. They'd managed to get it down to 85.2% by March 2019, but still massively higher than at any time in the previous Labour government (source).

Shows just how bad the mess was then, if the debt kept on rising despite all that austerity.

The small increase in recent testing is not the cause of the increase in new cases of Covid. That needs to be completely debunked. Looking at Sept:-

On 31st August - 181038 tests were processed, and there were 1258 new cases

On 30th September - 232212 tests were processed, and there were 4456 new

The % increase in tests over this period was 28%, the increase in infection (new cases) was 254%

The numbers speak for themselves.

Under reporting on previous days so all those bell pieces with their "Look how wrong Witty's 50k prediction was" (Not a prediction by the way) will have to amend them

Haha - does look like that. To be fair I’d worked it roughly in my head and then threw it into excel. Old habits die hard.

Our world class track and trace system is a f*cking excel spreadsheet. Clearly she really learnt the lesson from Talk Talk on data security.

Letter from the docs to book an appointment for a vaccine. Phone or online. After 20+ busy calls, decided to use online. Set up account etc etc. Went to book. Not available online.

15++++ calls finally got through, usual 20 minute wait, made booking for 6 weeks time, earliest. Mentioned online issue, they knew (so why put it in the sodding letter). Blamed Covid. Err. Not for a letter generated in their surgery it’s not.

None of this is massively important, routine jab offered to old farts. But it’s easy to see the spin off impact on the health of the nation and especially the oldies who perhaps can’t handle the phone/online crap.

Numbers issued each day, cases and deaths is the tip of a largely invisible iceberg.

Still, I’ve no doubt those who choose to flout the regulations don’t really give a toss do they

Depresses the f*ck out of me on how little consequence there will be politically for the Tories decision to appoint mates, acolytes and former colleagues to positions of massive importance in dealing with this pandemic, and who seem to be all massively out of their depth. The curve in the UK now looks worse than the French one, where they are in full panic mode about the resurgence in cases.

They've completely f*cked this a second time. Defies belief.

I thought the spreadsheet comment was a joke but :

Yes, but at least they have been consistent throughout this crisis.
