There was one man who said all there is to say in six words:

"For the many not the few"

Yeah, really. This should be a real game-changer.

The young left will finally get their wish and have a generation of Tory rule that they can moan about to their kids like their now aging parents did.

Enjoying thus AUS-UK-USA deal

It provides a counter to China's growing sabre rattling and threat to sovereign nations

The fact it's annoyed the French and the loony left as well is also a bonus

I knew I'd heard it before, I like the way Jezza has made it more punchy.

I hope he finds room to reference his dad who worked in a factory, even though he doesn’t like mentioning his dad worked in a factory.

Given that the electorate has been shown as responding to 3-word-slogans, seems that Starmer is on a different planet.

14000 words to fudge/ please Murdoch/ have no principles (apart from demonising Corbyn)/ waste so much paper that hardly anyone will read ...

And all that nothingness when the country desperately needs an alternative vision. :(

Starmer needs to start vigorously going at Boris who, it seems to me, is having a fairly easy ride. And as I understand it, 14,000 words with no policy ideas. Wow. At least Milliband kept his stone-written epitaph short

The groundwork is being laid for a GE according to some pundits. Time for the opposition to start going for the jugular. Hell, there has been enough opportunity of late.

I.... don’t think Starmer is planning to use 14000 words as an electoral slogan

You guys are also aware that Starmer briefly took the lead in the polls last week right

No need for that negativity, it’s going to be a forensic masterpiece.

We know it’s not a slogan. But maybe some of us would prefer him to be spending time on a perhaps more brief statement outlining his vision for a Labour Government and some ideas on what changes he wants to introduce. I have no idea what Labour stands for right now. Something for the voters.

And Boris suffering from the impact on huge tax rises and increasing inflation drops in the polls. Huge surprise. Next weeks chip paper. BoJo is crap at a lot of things but he knows how to wade through the crap and come up smelling of roses.

Boris it seems is getting ready for a future election. He don’t seem to have much remaining opposition in his own party now and not much from Labour either. Free ride. Seems he can do what the feck he wants.

The next election isn’t for another 3 years. What are you waffling on about

Fixed term parliament act no longer applies (and even if it does Boris has a big enough majority to get it through).

Unusually Maffy might for once be close to the money. A few political pundits are predicting an election in late 2022 or early 2023.

Not much. I've heard some predictions of an early election, but others that Boris would be happy to wait until December 2024. He'll be wary of falling into the same trap as his predecessor too.

May 2024* :ugeek:

Smart money is on May 2023, need enough time to have a few levelling up achievements to point at but not too long that they can't scaremonger about Keir and Brexit

People I know in MHCLG were saying that another December election was in the frame. Not definite, of course, but being considered as the turnout last time was okay.

Bur then these are the same people that told me Jenrick was going to be kept in place no matter what until the next election. So what the f*ck do they know?

But yeah, if it was in 2024, I'd wager it in the May too.

It has to be before 2 May 2024 as per the FTPA, so if it was gonna be Xmas it would be 2023

MHCLG is being renamed the Department for Levelling Up. FFS, I'm actually going to have to refer to this almost daily in my job.

Kinda puts the rest of the world's problems into perspective.
