A vaccine is not certain and could be years away. And even if there is one would everyone have the opportunity to have it. We could living like this for years.
Well they certainly couldn't roll out a vaccine to everyone quickly, if this year's routine flu jab is anything to go by.

Is this cause for optimism?
I do believe we need to stay sharp and focussed so that we have he best chance of flattening the curve or moving it in a downward direction. It seems the rule of 6 is having a positive impact although Corbyn seema to think having more than that is ok for himself. The R rate is moving back down once more.

From the article
"Yes, cases are worryingly high. Yes, hospital admissions have doubled in a week. And yes, 71 deaths are a tragedy."
But apart from that.... things are looking up

I'll be very disappointed if that's not champagne they're drinking.

Sorry you feel that way, I do too sometimes. It's all a bit rubbish. But I'd say that article is more about realistic expectations and that it being a golden solution in a matter of months is a fantasy more than the vaccine. Head up, it'll come.

Those at the very beginning like Kinnock I can sort of get (in a very, very small way) as they had no symptoms and didn't take into account the new world but the one's doing it now like Corbyn and Ferrier are really displaying top class levels of thick. JC didn't have symptoms it seems but in September 2020 that's a real touch of dumb.

Of course you’re right.
By all means, nip round your mates but don’t let them put pics on social media ffs.

Corbyn's dinner party thing was stupid but Ferrier's multiple misdemeanours are on a different level, especially given what she said about Cummings and his trip to Durham. I think she'll be lucky to still be in a job come Monday.

She took the seat from Labour in December with a 5,230 majority. It’ll be interesting to see what the result will be like after the inevitable by election.
