Is there any point in testing if you have to isolate regardless of the result?

France and Spain death figures aren’t following the death case rises as they were in March during the first wave. Spain on March 20th 11,000 cases a week later 800 deaths in one day. September 18th 11,558 cases a week later 114 deaths. Similar figures in France (source worldometers.info ) 🤞 it continues this way.

Me too. The rise is bigger in the younger age group, 20-29 sees the biggest increases I believe. People who thankfully don’t have the same issues.

Deaths tend to impact on those with underlying conditions and us olduns. Groups that are probably taking more care. And of course treatment options are better known.

Something to remember is that the testing wasn't there in march. The daily cases at least here is thought to be around 100k infected a day, but the record shows just 6k because not enough people were tested.

I totally agree. The real figure was almost certainly higher. Though some sort value can be taken using percentage by age group even that has no degree of certainty.

So Boris and a cabinet minister have no clue re Covid restrictions. In a private company, as a senior manager, you'd get the boot if you couldn't explain such details. Always hated the "misspoke" excuse - it's always incompetence or lying.

7,143 UK cases today. Still trending in the wrong direction despite the action taken so far.

More tests are going to equate to more cases.

What direction are the deaths trending?

Up, as expected. That's also not considering how many people may have serious ongoing conditions after surviving.

Matt Hancock has finally explained our new strategy. Back in March it was to flatten the curve and protect the NHS. Fair enough.

He has now said it's to "suppress Coronovirus while protecting our economy and education until a vaccine arrives."

The more I read that statement, the less sense it makes and sounds like it's over dependent on assumptions and outcomes that may not be realistic. They obviously have access to better information than us, so this may be the best strategy, but it would be good for parliament to apply more scrutiny and test it.

A vaccine is not certain and could be years away. And even if there is one would everyone have the opportunity to have it. We could living like this for years.

Are you insinuating that Hancock and co. are making this up as they go along based on ignoring scientific advice and basic common sense?
