Seriously, how are so many people missing the religious fanaticism parallels with some of these activists? You can see the mania in their eyes when they speak.

This is hardly surprising. They're engaged in saving the world - that's bound to have an effect - and in the face of quite severe hostility from some of the rest of the population. I guess they have to be fanatical to get through it.

Yes, it's quite a shameful indictment of our supposedly 'advanced nation' that the population at large, the media, the government and the law enforcement combine in determination to hunt, shame and penalise those who are trying to educate and open people's eyes! How insane is that?

Why would it now be deemed "religious fanaticism" when the public education message for home insulation actually goes back a long way? Grants for such things as 'loft insulation' were available many years ago.

Surely they've missed a trick by not going to Glasgow?

I would just withdraw the police from their protests and leave them to the drivers they are pissing off.
Could even use the traffic build up as an excuse.

I wonder if Insulate Britain have any sort of Safeguarding or risk assessment wing that vets people before they get them to walk into traffic and Superglue themselves to the road

I suppose it's only natural for them to up the ante with the nazi/holocaust nonsense as they have to justify this kind of thing to their supporters and motivate them somehow.

Emma Smart (or perhaps not-so-smart) has been jailed for 4 months. She's announced she's going on hunger strike but it's not clear whether that is a protest against her sentence or the lack of insulation in her cell.

Attempting to justify her recent 2 year round-the-world trip in a 4x4 diesel she said the "frustration” of climate change was “a huge motivation for getting out and seeing the world’s wild places… while they were still there", though to her credit she and her partner have not had any children for "environmental reasons".
