2,919 cases reported today, up from 2,659 yesterday though a similar number compared to the start of the week.

On the 26/8 there was a 1,048 cases in the whole UK and yesterday there were 6 deaths which is 0.0057% of people dying two weeks after a positive test. I know that’s not how it works but it surely says that the people who are getting covid are recovering and not dying. These numbers are from the government website and it also says that the death maybe not be because of covid either.

It also shows the rolling 7 days average is also on its way down when analysed by specimen date by UK nation.

It’s going to be tough Ron.

Someone explain this to me.

Kids football you are allowed 30 people between both teams, that’s parents etc. How is that going to be safe from spreading the virus? That’s if people, teams clubs abide by that rule. I personally think it is going to be carnage once the league start up in the next week or so.

One household of 4 can not meet with another household of 3 or 4.

But 6 individuals or 3 couples can hook up, no bother.

It’s bonkers.

No one is going to take any notice this time around, people are done.

Bonkers have the government gone mad or are they just listening to the mad scientists.

Common sense, whats that if you are in or close to the top of the establishment. Or if you are in these positions, this is common sense to you.

"I know that’s not how it works but" - so you know your extrapolation is tenuous but you'll do it anyway?

Also, "not dying" and "recovering" are not the same thing (see recent reports about "long COVID").

Best of luck with trying to make Thor see sense. It'd be easier to convince a lion to turn vegan.

Boris and the Tory idiots may be bumbling along in England, but here in Wales it's Mark and Labour idiots who have been bumbling from day 1 on PPE, testing and tracing, peole travelling miles and miles to get a test, care homes, school exams and now the rule of 6 will be introduced on Monday. NI and Scotland have also bumbled badly - it's COVID and I really feel that, whatever politicaL we could do with a bit more grace and mercy for the leaders and Govts of our 4 nations.

It's bonkers our circle of friends include quite a large number of people from our daughters school. So in the current climate half a dozen of the parents can still meet up but we can't take the kids with us even though they spend 6 and a half hours in school together every day.

Yet your allowed on trains with random strangers who really couldn't give a toss about anyone else.

Also wonder how the old bill are going to enforce this at christmas if it's still in force, are they going to do a door to door and count the number in each persons house.

Went into the hospital today and despite infections rising, there was absolutely no checks at the front entrance like there has been since about May. No temperature checks, people reminding you to sanitise your hands or asking if you are feeling unwell.
