Β£2.6 million spent on tarting up a room in No.10 Downing Street for TV press briefings as unveiled just a few weeks ago and it has already been consigned to 'no further use' !!!

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... cop26-role

He is running riot over rules/ protocol/ decency/ etc. etc. and it's all a big jolly and ego trip for him.

No one cares.

He’s a track record of very expensive failed vanity projects. No one cares about those either.

A good 40-odd % of the population actually approve of his wasting their money like that because it pisses off "the lefties". It's actually a pretty genius trick.

Yep. That's the problem. Those on the left that insist on fighting this so-called culture war need to realise that they're not the soldiers in it. They're the bullets.

You would have liked my dissertation on rescuing Gramsci from the soft headed trendy lefties back in the 80s.

You know them them ones who banged on about broad alliances with the liberals, churches, uncle Tom Coboly etc. The ones who thought "progressive" politics could be advanced in a "war of manoeuvre" by occupying the cultural institutions.

So the issue you identify is not a recent thing and is deeply ingrained in the labour movement to the detriment of arguing the economic case for class based socialist politics.

The identarians aren't going anywhere soon and neither should they. Their causes are important. It's just that they are firing the wrong type of ammunition.

Half the "culture war" stuff is made up anyway. Every November the Express dig out and copy/paste the story about how councilors at Bumfuck County Council have banned Christmas trees from all council buildings in case it offends Muslims - f*cking lefties at it again. And so on.

With Dom the Grass on the loose, BoJo must be having sleepless nights. God knows what stuff Dom has on Boris. If I was Dom I would be very careful riding my push bike!

If the sleaze and corruption wasn’t so serious I’d have a good laugh at Cummings coming out fighting about being the source of leaks and having a spat with No.10 yesterday. How anyone can vote for this shower is beyond me, but 4 out of 10 who can be bothered still regularly do.

Anyone else think that all this recent activity is Gove sticking the knife into Boris?

The blog post from Cummings was far too focused and edited to be written just by him. Plus the relish with which the Daily Mail is picking up with this comments and the flat refurbishment story is interesting, given Sarah Vine’s association.
