Majority of just over 300 votes. A wins a win I suppose and for Starmer some much needed breathing space but again it’s reflective of the changing landscape. Perhaps Matt Hancock’s stunning CCTV performance went some way to swaying some wavering Labour voters back to the fold?

Seem to recall an old TV episode of yes minister. The opposition party were called the opposition in waiting whilst people within you own group were called the opposition from within. Something like that.

The gist being MPs find it easier to have sensible discussions with people from outside their own party sometimes. You only fight them every few years.
