The US has recorded at least 94,000 new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours, with spikes in dozens of states days before the presidential election.

Trump and his followers, conspiracy theory believers but a refusal to believe in Climate change and the actions needed to slow it down/avert it.
Refusal to wear masks or accept that Coronavirus is anything but FAKE news. Trump followers would prefer to accept his words over science when it comes to many things including this awful virus and climate change. Trump also not stop tells falsehoods, a snake oil salesman who dodges paying his income tax. Also seems he has business interests in China and also money in Chinese bank accounts. Loves to rub shoulders with Dictators but shuns Americas European Allies. Awful man but beats me as to why the Democrats could not find someone far better than Biden to put up against him. Lastly, Trump could not give a damn about establishing a decent healthcare system that gives even basic healthcare for the poorer in society and has been trying to do away with Obamacare which helped the poorest get the medical help they needed.

Lovely girl. I expect her to stand by him when this is all over and visit him in prison. If she isn't in prison too.

One month ago Iowa the polls showed they were level, trump now has a 7 point lead. Trump supports lay low on voting intentions. Don’t be shocked if he were to pull this off.

Do keep Up Greyhound

That prediction was mentioned here over a week ago page 10 of this thread .

To win the election Biden needs to retain all of the states Clinton won in 2016 and flip Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. The latter three were won by Trump by less than 1% and are currently showing leads for Biden from 5-8%. Winning any of the other battleground states will be a bonus.

Not really been following the polls. How have they improved from their recent debacles?

If Biden doesn't win then I think that effectively ends any remaining credibility for polls in US presidential elections.

Far too close to be comfortable in Pennsylvania and Florida, and if they go to Trump (which could be aided by some very open f*ckery from the republicans on voter suppression, ballot rejection and plain voter intimidation being encouraged), then it's Trump's.

Trump is pretty brazenly positioning for a form of coup, where he will refuse to concede regardless of result. He's admitting he's going to sue immediately after the election to get 'late' votes discounted, even though that is an absolute nonsense. This in theory aides him, as the proportion of his vote that'll vote in person on the day is way, way higher since his supporters don't think coronavirus is really an issue.

It's quite scary really. They are going into an election with 40%+ of the electorate willing to endorse their man no matter how much it'll damage their democratic process and institutions.

How early do we think he'll call a win for himself? He should lead for a lot of election night, so I assume he'll just lead, claim a win and then tell everyone that 'it's convenient that all the mail ballots for Biden came in after my historic landslide win!' and his supporters will just lap it up.

Bookies go 4/9 Biden and 7/4 Trump , they are normally right but years ago Thatcher was 3/1 to win and won easily πŸ€”πŸ€”

Basically yes. There's no precedent for an election being subverted in this way, it could get ugly. The number of terrorist supporters of his that he openly encourages to commit political violence is really alarming.

You have to hope that the early voting numbers you're seeing in places like Texas , where they're already way ahead turnout wise, will be a positive unpredictable factor. It's difficult to believe Trump's supporter base has increased much, so if you're being optimistic, that's a lot more democrat votes that haven't been accounted for in the polling data.
