You don't mean to say that the part owners knew him and that this trust in knowing him contributed to him being offered the job, right?

But that could only happen at Orient, that's what they said. We're the only ones that would do that. And wasn't it called cronyism?

Oh.

That's two clubs now that have started giving jobs to contacts. Disgusting.

Confirmed : https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54841418
The pair will again work together at the Stags, with Crosby joining as his assistant, while his older brother Simon Clough has been appointed as head of recruitment.
Blimey, that's the second time this week that something that could literally only ever happen at Orient has happened at another club. What a coincidence.

That’s a good appointment. I wonder if they approached him to see if they could afford him or just thought damm it we can afford you?

This proves that we had no chance of getting him.
They are a well financed L1 club with an average attendance of over 9000.
Probably on about 4K a week plus bonuses. I will imagine he will be bringing in his own Backroom staff.

Decent reply.

Sometimes though you have to speculate to accumulate, maybe people of his level fall into that category for us? Maybe after everything we were not ready to speculate then? Stretch the budget beyond the norm? Maybe in future we will take that chance and appoint someone who is top draw material for the level we were at, at that time.

To be honest Thor, we had a better chance of getting him now.
He has now been unemployed for over a year and may have lowered his expectations.
I will be surprised if does anything there as they are 16m in debt and it can only be a matter of time before it goes bang.
The club may have missed a golden opportunity here as it looks like he is going to work with the existing staff, although that could change over the next couple of weeks.
