We are the champions
I don’t think I will ever see again two of the loves of my life - Essex and Leyton Orient - both champions in the same year
Well done to both
Feels good don’t it.

Just Orient for me, Hoping Middlesex get back to the top table soon. Also add in England cricket World Cup. No need to mention the ashes...

I really hope that Somerset win it next year, runners up 5 times in the last 10 seasons heartbreaking

Don't follow Essex if you have heart problems! But, well done to them and, over the season they have proved to be the best side. You always feel sorry for a team who came so close, especially when Somerset have never won the title. I'm old enough to know what it feels like - I was 31 when Essex won their first ever title - the B&H Cup and then the Championship.

Agree. If Essex don’t win it then it would be nice for Somerset to.

Well done to Anthony McGrath who had big boots to fill and coached the team brilliantly.
The captain speaks.

Bog boots.hope they weren’t full of manure.
I have corrected it before I get swamped with complaints.
Nah, more fun first time. Leave it as it is. Sometimes funny when the computer corrects what you type but gets it wrong. A joy of modern technology.

Just a pity that we buggered up the Trophy final, else if could have been a double double for us and Essex.

Went down to Somerset to see this game. Rain delay all over the place
But somerset forfitted their second innings and went for it.
But Sir Chef and Brown were a stone wall and won it for us.
The game, people, place, food and players were fantasic .
Sport at its best.
Roll on next summer.

I agree. The game was a credit to Cricket. Despite the weather. Two good teams slugging it out for the title. Will admit that whilst I always felt Essex had it in the bag, Somerset made a damn good fight of it and I had the odd nervy moment went the wickets started to fall. The pitch was starting to get very difficult.
Credit to both teams.

Alistair Cook has been and done it at the highest level all over the world, he dug in for 83 runs and lost his wicket only once in very difficult conditions.
Still a class act and thankfully an Essex player.

Yup, terrible coverage. The 2nd national game after football, and not a mention of it on the tv news either last night or this morning. I know the ECB haven’t exactly helped themselves by restricting live coverage to S*y but so little media coverage is shameful.

Yes, I used to love watching cricket but since it went to Sky and I'm not lining Rupert Murdoch's pockets I seem to have lost interest. Not that we get any cricket where I am.
