Also, on the 9/11 theme, The Looming Tower on Prime is well worth a watch.

And while we're on Prime, I see they've put Cinema Paradiso up.

Couldn't get the hype over The White Lotus- gave up after 2 episodes. I will wait for series 3 of Succession for my billionaires behaving badly fix.

Enjoyed The Night Of (had some ex Wire in it including Omar RIP)

Liking Vigil a lot

But my all time favourite show is back Gone Fishing- it's a big warm hug

Grapes of Wrath (1940). The Snowflakes should be made to watch this if they think they are having a hard time. Would make their hair stand on end.

I have just finished the second series of "Condor".

The first series was loosely based on the 1970's film Three Days of the Condor starring Robert Redford, and had several scenes that harked back to the movie. It was pretty enjoyable bunkum and filled the hours entertainingly. The second series just took the characters and ran with a brand new storyline.

I suspect there's more to come.

Honestly think it might be my favourite show ever and I don’t even like fishing.

It also made me stumble upon the show after: Chris packham and daughter which has a similar feel.

I have now decided Vigil is crap. Too confusing and can't believe the captain kept a tropical fish tank in his quarters on the submarine. Surely its cruel to keep a fish underwater?

Squid Games: overhyped rubbish with terrible overacting and hackneyed stereotype characters. No idea why it’s become Netflix’s biggest ever show…

But Lambs of God miniseries (BritBox “exclusive” in UK) was good. In the magical realism style of an Angela Carter novel, with the Catholic Church playing the evil baddie up against a feral trio of nuns played by a very strong female cast. Nice Oz settings too.

Been watching Squid Game. I think slacker is broadly correct, but is being a tad harsh. Yeah, the premise has been explored previously, and the character stereotypes are all there. But as I watched it I thought it was well executed and had it's tongue firmly in its gory cheek.

So, if you're looking for some entertainment then you could find a lot worse out there, so long as you can enjoy it for what it is.

And I was enjoying it for what it was. Up until that sixth episode. F*ck me - no spoilers - but to say it stepped up a gear would be an understatement. I'm struggling to get it out of my brain. Persevere with it.

I throughly enjoyed it. And yes episode 6 had me losing my marbles. I also now look at tempered glass in a different light.
Anyway for me it's all about Succession Series 3 from tonight.

Only half watched it, but it was not dissimilar to a run of the mill horror film like 'Escape Room'. Trash TV.

Just watched the film "The Death of Stalin", a barking mad, satirical comedy about the scramble for power after the death of the tyrant.
Very funny, but also scary because these people actually existed.

Virgin River - Series 2. Absolute toilet but can’t resist its location (filmed in Canada - BC).

Good news for Happy Valley fans - a third and final series is to be filmed next year.

I recommend the first two series for anyone who missed this. They may be on iPlayer.

New series of Alaskan Bush People is on. Weird.

Don't be misled by the title of the show the Brown family live in Washington State.

Finished Squid Game last night. Eventually found that I preferred watching in Korean with subtitles, rather than the rather poorly dubbed version. Liked it.

4 or 5 episodes through The Chestnut Man - quite good but I do tend to drift away now and again.

Love on the spectrum season two - feel good and beautiful
Started watching I May Destroy You which feels like it’s fantastic but it’s probably the most intense show I’ve ever seen so can only do a few episodes at a time
