Thanks but I am well aware and disappointed at their shortcomings.
Have been trying to work out why a ‘substantial meal ‘ will prevent Covid, especially where one pub I know is saying that it is fine to sit in their pub drinking tea and coffee all day.
Anyhow Tuffer, one thing for sure, rather have Tories than Labour any day unless under Blair who was a great Tory PM.

I would think people would say a Great British Prime Minister .
Something way short on how bojo is doing now .
Still the story party will be out in another what a maximum of 4 years &
The country will be even harder on its knees by then

Bit presumptuous to say the Tories will lose the next election with an 80 seat majority yoot overturn. This country's economy was thriving before this Covid and indications are that it could recover quite quickly as there are a lot of positive people in the UK with great business acumen. You can be negative like you seem to be but there are people that make this Country ‘Great Britain’ who create jobs and wealth to boost the economy.

Re: Tory Watch
The economy was thriving! As was the inequality. Therefore something was and is going spectacularly wrong. That is policy.
You're viewing the being negative thing completely wrong I think. I am very positive about the UK and want it to be absolutely brilliant for everyone, that is why I point out the negatives. That isn't 'being negative', that's just realistic.
For me, if I walked into a street and saw that 9 of the 10 houses were not on fire but that 1 was on fire, I'd try to put the fire out rather than tell the fire service to be more positive about the ones that are OK.

Unemployment was at a record low before Covid.
Simms has EU members wanted to come here to work. I don’t know why you talk the Country down? Still a great country. So much money being spent to get homeless off the streets, in fact there is a hotel room or hostel accommodation for every rough sleeper at present. A person I know told me some refuse all help for whatever reason but some actually have their own social housing but the community they know is on the street.
We will bounce back quickly I feel. There is a thriving economy out there stifled at present. Every takeaway premises are doing incredibly well. Over the weekend in Wanstead , Leyton and Leytonstone, the bins were overflowing with £3 a cup paper coffee cups . Queues forming outside all eateries. Supermarkets were busy, queues at cash points.
Have faith in a recovery..

Record for low unemployment in the uk
September 1947 under a Labour government
----------
The Unemployment Insurance Act 1920 brought an additional 8 million workers into the scope of the scheme. This increased the total number of workers covered to around 11/12 million. Considering the data between 1920 and 1948 the highest recorded unemployment rate was 23.4% in May 1921 and the lowest was 1.6% in September 1947 (excluding the war years). Long periods of relatively high unemployment rates were also recorded in the UK in the Depression of the early 1930s.
-------------------
Im not talking the country down at all.
Just the fact that brexit is already putting 3 buisnesses under pressure
Just with buisness in Ireland alone .
Fisheries obv'
But also cheese & now potatoes , specifically
The chip spud which is a british spud .
Money being lost on costs as they are douboing & tripling in price
So people wont buy them , farmers lose money cheese industry
Loses money fishing loses money .
Where does it end ?

I love the country so much I want it to be much better. Why don't you love it that much?

Re: Tory Watch
Great stuff, a fellow patriot. Thank you. But I'm obviously a bit more patriotic as I really want us to be better and am therefore willing to look at the negatives in the country and put those right rather than just focus on the things needing less attention and that are already OK. That's not me talking down the country, that is me talking it UP, as I want it to be greater.Oiram wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 6:37 pm
