What even was that?
Something that the Club doesn't seem to be able to explain very well

Honestly, I'm a bit embarrassed that the Club I support is running scared of a few morons amongst our support that represent a small minority of the fanbase.
Wasnt it a fan from another club sending abuse via social media that triggered this change in stance?
Possibly.

One of the people sending abusive messages was not identified, as far as I am aware.

I’m assuming the players are aware of the section of the away support that do boo the knee, however.

That may well have been part of it. But the Club has been near silent on the reasons, so we can only speculate.

Maybe they're just trying to find the elusive middle ground by keeping the racists and anti racists both happy at the same time.

One week, taking the knee, next week not bothering. As you say we can but speculate.

There was something which KJ said in a recent interview when Dave Victor asked him about taking the knee – can’t recall the exact words, but it was along the lines of the players wanted to show support but they’ve also recognised the need to move on from it at some stage – which I took to mean as many have said that these things have their day.

It would send out a very poor message if "at some stage" just happened to be the immediate aftermath of a very public incident and an uptick in imbecility from our own fans.

They going to kneel forever? They have decided it’s enough and now moving on to other gestures of support for marginalised communities (except poor white kids obvs). It’s all good. Stop yer moaning.

I'm not going to stop kneeling for a good while yet, don't you worry about that.

I think that is what he is saying. Out of order if you ask me especially considering his profile pic of Jobi….hmm, certainly something to ponder.

I stand corrected, someone did suggest the reason: https://youtu.be/_RL9rd07iEc?t=367 (watch for about 25s)

I streamed Peterborough v Huddersfield on Tuesday, my Posh supporting son watching it from Lincoln where he’s at uni so we text chatted throughout.

Ref blew to take the knee beforehand, one Terries player did, no Posh players did, ok so I couldn’t see the keepers but the majority of players were in view of the cameras. Just felt a bit bizarre.

If they do that bloody minutes silence again this weekend, I’m booing them. There’s no place for that sort of political nonsense in sport.

Agreed. Maybe a conga for the war dead instead of that dirge on the trumpet whilst everyone looks down at their feet in silence.

Oh, sorry.

But the point remains. Why do we do special remembering for the war dead? What about the dead who died not doing a war?

All deaths matter.

Why do we now have 3 weeks of silences for Remembrance Sunday?

It doesn’t seem that long ago that we had a 2 minutes silence before games on the weekend closest to 11/11 but now every club must be seen to be holding their own tribute. Watching Villa v West Ham last week they had their minutes silence etc. as it was their last home game before 11/11. The first time I have ever witnessed a Remembrance silence in October.

Strange how some people like to mock those that died and fought for Britain in the war but go apoplectic when someone uses the word P*ki which is to mock people from Pakistan and other Asian countries. Weird. It’s almost like they are embarrassed to be British which we know is the reason Labour losses election after election.
