Maybe Boris didnt go to Italy but..
"Carrie Symonds has enjoyed a five-star holiday in the exclusive Italian resort of Lake Como with her baby Wilfred. In the week Boris Johnson told Britons the UK was in for another six months of misery, his fiancée his fiancée has been staying at the £600-a-night Grand Hotel Tremezzo in northern Italy with three girlfriends"
Most card-carrying Tories are probably quite old
Most old people grew up in a country that was far more white than it is now
Most people are weary/uncomfortable around other people/things they're not familiar with.
I don't agree with it, but I understand how they could feel that way.

Yes, I understand those factors too - but it still shocks me that the false narratives are so deeply embedded. Media have a lot to answer for, I'd say.

The ‘elite’ are shameless.
I thought Boris was complaining about being hard up. I guess they scraped up the money from somewhere, poor mites.......

Absolutely.
When you consider the chancellor put forwards another package of 22bn to support people going into lockdown and couldn’t spare 157m for the kids, it really is indefensible.

The ridiculous thing is, we did this same dance the first time round when the Tories refused to fund the meals, got increasing pressure from Rashford and the public, had to u turn and back down with everyone wondering why they didn’t just take the easy win in the first place.
Seems like they’ve learnt...
