More effort required in ascertaining the facts would have been helpful. I still have no idea why anyone would object to Israeli government propaganda films being shown in English cinemas.

Disastrous and stomach churning scenes. Wonder how long anyone with a grain of empathy can stand behind what’s happening

Watching 'Dispatches' on Channel 4, on life inside Gaza, these last 8 months
A real hard watch. Seeing 5 year olds with legs hanging off, have just seen their parents blown to pieces is very hard.
Dad's in an ambulance holding their 2 year old daughter, dripping with blood.
Zionism will pay a heavy price one day for this evil

I had to turn it off. I know it’s only one side of the argument but f*** me, this cannot continue.

Which is why the Hodge faction and the Starmer followers were so determined to get Corbyn out of parliament with all the dirty shameful tricks they could invent. British politics seemingly must be subservient to Israel. Criticism of the apartheid state is not allowed.

As for calling it a "tragic mishap" (as Netanyahu is doing): that's him just having a laugh and again demonstrating that international laws and rules don't apply to Israel. For a highly trained and equipped army Israel is having rather a lot of those supposed 'tragic mishaps'.

It can and it will.

There's no other way, remember.

It's interesting, how, in the last few days, how quiet all this boards resident Zionists have been

Even the non-zionist Grown Ups on here - the sort who said calling for a ceasefire last October/November was ridiculous - have gone quiet.

Maybe the slaying of innocent civilians will stop?

Haven't been following it closely, but some things haven't changed and must be resolved

The return of all hostages
The defeat of Hamas

Its not going to happen without bloodshed. These things are essential to long term peace.

Yet still there are people like this. Not sure how bad it actually has to get, how many more civilians brutally murdered, before they'd hear a bad word about Israel. :(((

It is not inconsistent to be appalled by the loss of innocent life in Gaza and at the same time recognise the role of Hamas in this. An immediate ceasefire will not resolve anything. It will only be a matter of hours or days before Hamas start firing rockets into Israel, or Israel strike at a Hamas leader hiding amongst the civilian population and kills some of them, and the ceasefire is over and the cycle of violence will start all over again.

Hamas do not want the war in Gaza to stop until they have achieved their objectives - first turn the world against Israel by whatever means necessary whether or not that includes the deaths of innocent Palestinians (they are doing very well so far), and then remove Israel from the map. You may not want to acknowledge the role of Hamas in this ("Yes but Hamas") but it's a fact.

Israel seem to be doing a pretty good job of turning the world against them without any help from Hamas at the moment.

I can confirm that the anarchists and various leftist groups that occupy the Omonoia neighbourhood of Athens are fully kitted out in the keffiyeh. There are Palestinian flags flying from the lampposts. I'm showing my solidarity by gazing down upon the great unwashed from a rooftop cocktail bar, and raising a glass or two in their general direction.

Take care, they can smell a centrist dad from a mile away. You may feel safe in your rooftop redoubt but you will have to come down sometime.

If Hamas stopped existing do you think Israel would just accept Palestinian as a state?
