Re: The trans debate
Ok, I tried playing along, but “I don’t know why women might need privacy” is bizarre, and confirms my initial instinct to not engage. Have a good weekend though mate

Re: The trans debate
As far as I am aware, ladies' toilets have cubicles and they don't wee wee in front of everyone like men do so I can understand where you may be coming from on the privacy query.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 5:33 pm I was more interested in talking about purpose #1. Why don’t you ask the female members of your family what they thinkLong slender neck wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 5:33 pm I was more interested in talking about purpose #1. Why do they need privacy?

Re: The trans debate
So you are in favour of banning trans women from certain female spaces because women need privacy, but cant explain why that privacy is needed?CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 5:38 pm Ok, I tried playing along, but “I don’t know why women might need privacy” is bizarre, and confirms my initial instinct to not engage. I engaged in good faith against my better judgement. Let’s not insult each other’s intelligence. Have a nice weekend

Re: The trans debate
I’m fully prepared to accept that inherent to the argument that single sex spaces provide privacy is a shared assumption that privacy is a good idea, yes.
Baffling

Re: The trans debate
Why do they need privacy from men in particular? Not sure why you aren't willing to spell this out.

Re: The trans debate
Bit of a vague statement.
Their position is “male people who want to participate in the women’s game because of what they believe about themselves should be allowed to”
That’s a position they’re entitled to hold, of course. But they need to be prepared to make a case for that if that’s the rule they want.
What the ruling has shown is that the only way so far they can get their way on that is by interpreting existing law (which is what organisations did, on the advice of Stonewall) to overwrite the reality of sex with belief about gender identity
