I didn’t say that - I said that intending to win by utilising the dynamics of this kind of investment is reliant on a mug losing later on. Doesn’t have to be at the next step.Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 10:26 pmNo one has to lose out for an earlier investor to ‘win’.CEB wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 1:35 pm Total lay person on this, but I can’t get past that it seems that people are only buying Bitofacon as an investment, not because they have a realistic expectation that it will be an actual currency. So long as everyone just keeps on buying, then that's correct - nobody can possibly lose.CEB wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:21 amSo it’s an investment that nobody loses out on?Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:12 amNo, it’s not reliant on someone losing out later on at all.

The traders (for that read gamblers) in the money markets have decided to try and make some money on a falling pound. It'll come round again. (I had a friend work in the money markets for his bank in the 80's - the stories he used to tell me about how they decide what to buy and sell, IMO it was 90% gambling, nothing to do with the state of a countries economy.
