Losing out in central midfield yet again is irritating me to say the least

Utterly clueless!
Manager, clearly can not motivate his players, and does not have a clue what formation to play!
Players have no idea & are clearly not giving manager 100%
No direction, no midfield, no creativity & no idea what to do, it is totally embarrassing watching us trying to play football and getting totally dominated all over the pitch.
We are scared and don’t want the ball and don’t have a clue what to do when we have the ball other than hoof it.

Good to see that after 2 years, it’s still awful. Last game I saw live, Ross was in charge and we played better.
Smith and Drinan look like they were out last night. Just no one in the box at all

Its so depressing, we don’t even look like having a shot let alone create a scoring chance.
And Smith & Drinan look like they know no service is coming and look completely uninterested

Somebody told me at halftime that Colchester have brought in about 7 players mainly form higher clubs . Now why couldn’t we have gone that . That’s what is making the difference today .

Scunny v Oldham is 0-0, let’s hope it’s stays like that and no team wins otherwise we will only be 10 points of bottom 2 and relegation!

Apart from Sears
I've never heard of 1 of them

Embleton had a well resourced squad compared to this. Even the midfield with Jens Janse in the equivalent match in 2017 looks an improvement compared with today's selection.

Drinan has now missed three great chances, one of them a complete sitter. Colchester are absolutely toilet.

Any chance of a pitch invasion and a flare!

Yep agree Colchester are poor, but what does that make us? NL bound that’s what we are if this rot is not stopped.

Beyond awful. Not looked like scoring all day.
Only positive for me is Matt Young. Not seen him before but looks like he’s got an eye for a pass despite being pushed out to the right then the left

No we needed a full squad rebuild and quality midfield players brought in. Instead we have a bunch of poor academy players being put in the starting XI regularly and signed kids in the window. This season should go down as a failure of recruitment as much as management.

Really do look like a team devoid of confidence, fight and ideas. Could easily slip into a relegation battle

This squad is more than good enough and much better than results suggest. That's on the proven, experienced manager.

I'm not sure I would say much better than results but a significant failure of management & also recruitment.

Nowhere near good enough. Started the summer recruitment with the likes of Beckles, Pratley, James etc. which was building the foundations of a good side then... stopped
Squad was far too thin and missing any form of cover for key areas RB, LB and midfield sorely lacking. Signed a crock in Reilly total waste of a wage. Wheels were already falling off before the covid postponements because of that lack of squad cover.
Get to January and instead of addressing the key areas with quality players get a bunch of kids in "for a few years time". The only one of the quality required is Khan but you can't start games effectively two players down with that midfield out there today.

I've completely given up on this club. It wouldn't be so bad if they had a bit of fight or nous about them but they are just dull and boring.
The manager came here with a decent reputation but now has a terrible wins to games ratio. As said previous, we are playing kids against
seasoned professionals in midfield so it's no wonder we can't create much.
No, not for me anymore. I'll wait for the new season to come and see what kind of recruitment happens over the summer. Shame really.
