The Status Quo version of Rocking All Over The World is actually a cover version, the song was written by John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame and recorded by him in 1975.
I must confess i bought the original Quo album at the time. From that album who can ever forget the soul searching track aptly entitled "Who am I?".
Whilst reading the cover and sleeve notes and the vinyl record label too (this was common in the late 70s amongst music nerds) I noticed the song writing credits of Rocking all over the World were owned by the J Fogerty you mention. This set me down the track of establishing who he was and eventually getting into CCR.

Not far off I think, I have a memory of it being played after the Hull play-off semi-final win.

As a one off or as an established tradition?
Being interesting to find out when it was first used.

It might (only might) have been the first time it was played - just checked on YouTube, sounds like Steve Jenkins (on the gantry with Andy Gilson) shouting something about Rockin' All Over The World after the final whistle? It's then played a little while later:

I knew Gilso was to blame but did not want to say anything because he's no weel.

Not sure Taxi has been there since the 60s , it did not chart till 1965 , if i remember it was bought in by Kieth Simpson who at the time was Safety officer forthe club , i reckon late 70s .

It had been played a couple of times at home that season .
Think Bazza had learned to introduce stuff gradually after the Taxi Revolt
