The new Highway Code actually covers the need for cyclists to give more consideration to pedestrians. So it’s also about protecting people from bumhole cyclists.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:58 pmNo, that’s not what this is about.Dohnut wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:17 pmImportant point. I have no issue with changes that protect cyclists.WickfordO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 1:44 pm If I was a cyclist I'd rather be a live pacifist than a dead anarchist. I just hope these staunch cyclists don't suddenly become traffic police.
And what about cyclists riding on pavements that have no makings and also these invalid carriages?
Another problem is that cyclists are unidentifiable if they do something wrong and run away.
But I do hope it creates better habits from cyclists too. Far too many have little regard for pedestrians, ride where they should not and feel they have the right to ignore traffic lights.
I’m sure now that changes will make life safer for them they (some) themselves will become more considerate to others.
This is about protecting vulnerable cyclists from inconsiderate, impatient bumhole motorists.
Fixed that for you.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 5:23 pm Its safer for me
I don't care about anyone else on the pavement, or laws that don't suit me
You shouldn't start turning until you see your way is clear including waiting pedestrians.Orient_Man_And_Boy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 7:25 am And pedestrians?
Now they have priority at uncontrolled junctions. So when travelling to the Os, I can be turning into Huxley Rd but must wait if people are standing waiting to cross the side road.
My front end will be across the gap in the bus lane and my arse end will block the only valid route along the High Rd (ALL vehicles inc bicycles).
How long before I’m rear ended or verbally abused?
