It’s beginning to look like our defence against their midfield and strikers . We have nothing much in the middle and have resorted to the long ball to Drinin.

We're in the danger zone where we concede late. FFS ref blow the whistle.

Our midfield is non existent, they are picking up everything in the middle.

Poor game. Didn't lose but first of our additional games coming up - got to make that count

That certainly wasn't promotion form.
Disappointing.

At what point can we say that Pratley is past it?

If the board can't see they need to spend big on the midfield before window shuts there's no hope of making promo spots. Won't get success trying to use bang average youth players in a senior pro's place.

Unfortunately put a veteran player in with no support from those in CM around him and he'll look 5+ years older than he is. Was crazy expecting he could play the whole season and dominate with no other investment in that area.

That was very disappointing, our season is beginning to fizzle out. It would appear that our weak midfield will be our downfall.
We now simply have to beat Newport on Tues & go on a run.
I just can't see it, I'm afraid.

Get the cheque book out before it’s too late or forget promotion.

Yep. Can only hope this was the effect of not much football recently, but that's not the only reason. Port Vale were there for the taking and we put in a very disjointed performance. Other teams have made them look poor recently but today was more like two poor teams. Couldnt break down a team that were delighted with a point.

Also looks like Smyth's hamstring may have gone again after he got done by their player.

Just because a team have lost a few in a row doesn’t make them a bad side. Port vale will probably be up there end of the season. Good clean sheet to get and fitness and sharpness regained, and we didn’t lose. Good foundation for our mad run of games.

But the sad reality is , it will be the same midfield on Tuesday. Hector , who if he had the ball for 90 minutes wouldn’t make any difference to the outcome , and a tired ex good player

Hectors barely played in the last 6 weeks has he? He was hardly gonna come back firing.

The general point about our midfield is spot on. The next 9 days will tell us all we need to know about our actual ambition.

If they wait 9 days they have no chance for promotion, new signings have to be in before Tuesday nights match.

Hector has been the same all season. He will be the same on Tuesday. What are you expecting him to turn into

Piss poor game today. Our sole attacking plan seemed to be to just lump it in the general direction of Smith and Drinan and hope something happened. Port Vale's keeper will never have an easier afternoon. We are actually getting worse the longer the season goes on. We've had precisely one goal from our central midfield group of Pratley, Hector, Clay, Kemp and Smyth in the first 23 games.

I’m not sure. But I’m looking forward to seeing after more than half a season in a full time starting role for a young academy product.

Sadly this is not a new experience being an O’s supporter, so much expectation, but always failing to deliver.
Why why why can’t Orient find a creative CM?
Every season we say we need one and every season we don’t sign one.
We have a top GK
We have a solid Def, 2nd least goals conceded in L2
We have 2 of L2 top Goalscorer’s (both in Top 5)
But once again we cannot create anything from CM

When when when will this club learn???

Port vale are sh*t and that’s shows how bad we actually were. They could be playing till midnight and they would not have scored let alone have a shot on our goal, piss poor, but then so we’re we.

I'm inclined to agree with that . If we start Tuesday night's game with that same central midfield we're in trouble .
