Cost of last minute postponement

I am a match day steward. We have to be at BR at 11.30-12.00 but lots arrive earlier not to be late. I had already left & paid train fare £18.40 & was at Oxford Circus when we got the news (same time as fans). Doubt if we will get paid - it is casual work etc.

But with so many people in london having to isolate due to omicron , that is not a guarantee is it.

Not sure what point you are trying to make. We are both out of pocket. I was referring to the match ticket, not the train ticket. Anyone knows you can not get a refund on the day

Last week the EFL stated that teams do not need to covid test on match day then if they tested the day before they should let Orient know. Also a Bristol fan tweeted and showed a picture of passing the team bus on the motorway. The manager in his interview on Friday said he had lots of injuries but did not state the covid situation.The whole thing stinks.

Absolutely. It’s not just our club that has suffered it is also both sets of fans. As one BR fan pointed out you can’t get a refund on a used train ticket. EFL just don’t think rules through and are totally incompetent. Had I been going to todays match, having checked that it was on, I would already have been on a train and unlikely to have found out about the postponement until arriving at Waterloo station.

Hardly gives you confidence in going to any match unless it is local.I don’t blame our club at all but every time I travel to Brisbane Road it costs me nearly double the cost of 1/23 of my Gallery Season ticket. Thus a postponed home match could cost me four times as much if I attended.

Will I renew my ST next year? Yes.
Will I attend so often ? No unless this postponement fiasco is sorted.

Think I read on the BRFC website or the Bristol Post paper that the Rovers CEO is offering to ‘ Pay fans expenses ‘ for the late cancellation. It’s obviously referring to Rovers fans, but you never know, he may entertain a claim from our fans who are out of pocket.
