Does anyone actually know a PANIC buyer?

My social media feeds are full of people moaning about these greedy bastards, from people who really do need fuel, but no one has admitted to buying any?

Also, why wouldn’t you go and buy some when you know everyone else is behaving like a willy and buying it all up?

Last night I managed to get £17.20's worth for the taxi. £30 at Asda in Binwood and £35 at Esso garage in Elderslie for the wife's . Now got a full tank for my trip to Devon, via Oxford, Reading and Barrow. Woohoo.

We should be pre-emptively panic buying non perishables just in case it starts again.

Also the media making a story where their wasn't one a few garages ran out perpetuated by the media to mean that the there's an epic fuel shortage.

If you're blaming ordinary people who are simply trying their best to be able to get on with their lives and provide for their families for any shortages of supply, then you're blaming the wrong people.

If you're blaming those people through the medium of Social Media, or comment sections, or phone ins - then you're directly helping to amplify the messages that set people off worrying that they'll not be able to get on with their lives and provide for their families unless they go out and stock up.

At a certain point panic buying becomes a rational response.

Without wishing to be the bearer of bad tidings, I'm afraid you can expect it to get worse rather than better.

Now that we've had The Great Divide, the Tories can basically blame any f*** up they cause on Foreigns (esp. the French), Remoaners, the Young, etc etc (so long is it's not them), and c.50% of the population will uncritically accept that story and continue to back them blindly. The alternative would be to admit to themselves that they've been fooled, and that's just too horrible to contemplate.

Imagine, if you can, how worried about having enough petrol that bloke is. He's turning his car into a rolling molotov cocktail, for f*** sake! What do you think he's doing it for ? fun? Do you think he's planning on selling it, somehow?

You don't know his circumstances at all do you? - maybe he's in the gig economy as a driver, and he's terrified he's not going to be able to work for the coming week.

Well you can load the "Public" % on to that of the media, since the Public wouldn't have known about it without "the Media" spreading the story.

If only 1% of forecourts had a shortage of supply, how is that newsworthy? I wonder who started the story - and why? It certainly is an object lesson in how to start a panic (and how to focus (i.e. divert) attention).

You'd hope one of the better outcomes of this is that some of the fear mongering peddled by that same media about asylum seekers flooding the country or people skiving off on benefits is viewed with a bit more skepticism.

I saw the shitrags had been able to pin the whole fuel crisis on one individual over the weekend, some ex BBC remainer. And people fall for it.
