Sure but we lined up as a 4-4-2, Ruel playing alongside Smith, Pratley and Hector in the middle, Clay on the right and Archibald on the left.
In Ruels after match interview ( see below ) the interviewer said to Ruel that the Os were playing a new system 4-4-2 to which Ruel agreed .Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 10:46 pmSure but we lined up as a 4-4-2, Ruel playing alongside Smith, Pratley and Hector in the middle, Clay on the right and Archibald on the left.
Already said it was lopsided, there’s no comparison between Archibald on the left and Clay on the right. But yeah, he’s done a decent job when called upon every time this season.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 11:16 pm Clay played on the right and didn't come back quite as much, but I don't remember him dynamically running down the wing and making crosses similar to Archibald, so what formation we played can be debated, we definitely had two forwards down the middle. Many choose to ridicule Clay, I'm just pleased we have an experienced player who however limited, can fill in and play wherever he' asked.
Him and Hector played either side of Pratley who sat deeper and they got out to the wide areas to close down. Ruel and Archibald were wide either side of Smith. Ruel got closer to Smith when the long ball went into him, that’s it.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 11:16 pm Clay played on the right and didn't come back quite as much, but I don't remember him dynamically running down the wing and making crosses similar to Archibald, so what formation we played can be debated, we definitely had two forwards down the middle. It’s staggering that someone can watch so much football for so many years and not be able to see something as basic as the formation we’re operating.
It was a 4-4-2.
Yes it did. Maybe watch the whole game instead of the transitions.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 6:37 amThat literally didn’t happen.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 11:30 pmHim and Hector played either side of Pratley who sat deeper and they got out to the wide areas to close down. Perhaps these 4-4-2 disbelievers should take the matter up with King Kenny himself.
King Kenny to lead us to the promised land !
