Can't really compete when a League 1 side comes knocking

Have faith in the Watford Wenger

Disagree. A very limited player. There's better out there.
I agree Max but it’s getting them to sign for us , that’s the problem. Good players will always be in demand by everybody
I’ve not seen many players in L2 who can beat a player and run with the ball for fun like Brophy.
Admittedly his end product was missing sometimes, but I always enjoyed watching him play and Cambridge obviously rate him.
Yes Max there is better out there, but will they come to Orient ??
Hopefully we will forget about those leaving soon as we get some better players in.

I agree, but pre-season is just three weeks away and it would be nice to resign a few of the out-of-contract players. Lets hope we can keep Happe and Vig.

Id rather keep Vig , I just don't rate Happe ☹

Again no real surprise, his dad's comments on FB said he was going without ever stating it directly. The point about finding a manager he can trust speaks volumes too.
There were two key factors - I wanted to come back into League One and I wanted to find a place and a gaffer that I can relate to and that I felt he had trust me in and I had trust in him.

Rather disappointing imho. A very good and versatile player who I think would have continued to be an asset for us. Looks like KJ is going to have a bit more work than expected this close season in filling the gaps - especially down the left hand side of the team. 😧

Thats a tad unfair Monkey boy. Negotiations with these payers started at the turn of the year, way before KJ came to the club.

I think they had made their minds up they were going a while ago, and waited for their agents to get the best deal.

Playing under Ross and then Jobi ( or was it Ling) must have been frustration for any forward player, as they played such a cautious negative way.

Im a bit upset with Brophs and DJ, but i didnt like Wilko. he has an attitude problem IMO

Very good player who was failed by
Leyton Orient probably the best
left winger the club has had since Alan
Comfort..
And Frank Clark certainly wouldn’t
have wasted Comfort’s ability and
development to ask him to play left
back ..
Good luck to Brophy as he’s only wasted
the past 3 years in E10..

Whatever the merits of James Brophy and wherever he played he gave us Four years decent service, won a promotion and ended up getting a three year deal on League One wages, good luck to him.

Will remember Brophy scoring at Northampton in front of us to give us the win a couple of years ago, the only time I was sure he was going to finish it. Not enough end product and frustrating as he is nearly a very good player but nowhere near the same class as Comfort or Otto. More Greg Berry!

What I was getting at is,you would have thought working with KJ might have persuaded them a little more.but this seems to have had the reverse affect? Perhaps some of them have been coasting over the last season or two and now they might actually have to work for there place?🙊

He’s nowhere near the player Coxy was, just for starters.

Dean Cox did nothing of note at Orient. Yeah he scored some nice goals and had a lovely song but Brophy delivered success

Cox lead Orient to a higher finish in every single season he was here.

No, we were relegated.

Still finished in a higher position in the league, though.

You must be joking mate . Brophy couldn’t even tie Coxy’s boot laces. IMO ,Coxy was one of the best players Orient have ever had in it’s history. A real terrific little player who always wore his heart on his sleeve. I think Brighton made a big mistake letting him go when they did .

Sad how Dean's career has nosedived after leaving the club.

Couple of seasons in League 2 then non league in the Isthmian and Conference South

Interesting.

Can you run the numbers for the same players but this time for "assists". Cheers.
