The Chinese have been the biggest Cyber Security threat for a couple of decades now. Too many companies in the West are only paying lip-service to protecting data - proprietary or customer info - and are way too easy to exploit. Then again, when I worked in the industry, a major company was put out of action for weeks by an employee who had been bribed to simply insert a virus into the network from his workstation. It's an ever changing landscape of threats and vulnerabilities which will cost a fortune for companies to properly protect themselves. That, in itself, is a justification for the increasing Chinese cyber attacks.
