Very sad that a good man has died.
May the earth lie light upon him.

Was he? I bet the NHS has had a lot more than £30m during this pandemic.cockhat wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 6:56 pmUnbelievably crass.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 5:45 pm Might also argue that it was a bit pointless seeing as govt have money printing machines and can fund whatever they like, if they wish to do so.
He was an embarrassment to the ‘government’!
You obviously don’t agree! how sad are you?
I can't see anybody sinking low enough to try and use the death of this lovely old man for cheap political point scoring, can you?Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 5:01 pm RIP Tom.
Has Boris taken advantage of this opportunity yet?
Maybe not. But it is heroic to fight for your country in a world war. Without people like him, you wouldn't be here to make crass comments like that.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 5:20 pm Its the public that came up with the money. Its not really heroic to hobble around your garden, but credit to him for the idea.
Ok. Do you mourn everyone who fought in the war then?O Superman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 9:40 pmMaybe not. But it is heroic to fight for your country in a world war. I for one will morn him as a hero.
The bloke spent the war getting a sun tan in Burma. Hardly landed at DunkirkO Superman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 9:40 pmMaybe not. But it is heroic to fight for your country in a world war. Quite amazing how you’re so happy to demonstrate your abject stupidity and ignorance. He went to Burma because he was sent there, he didn’t have a choice in the matter, like any other soldier who was posted.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 11:45 pmWho cares. He was over there defending a place we colonised and getting a nice tan in the process. You think he was over there defensing the great Burmese people? Or the interests of the Empire.
I'm pretty sure he didn't have much choice. There was a war on you know.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 11:45 pmWho cares. That’s fine but the conflict in Burma had nothing to do with the quality of life I have todayMax B Gold wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 12:02 amI'm pretty sure he didn't have much choice. The interesting point about the existence of an Empire back then is that without it Britain may not have been able to stand against the fascists after the collapse of France.
Apparently he couldn’t due to pneumonia medication he was takingRonnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 9:26 am You can say that again.
You would have thought that given his age and his profile, he would have been one of the first in line for the vaccine back in December.
I may be wrong, but I gather he missed out on the initial roll-out as they were on holiday in Barbados (which was allowed at that time). And then, after coming back, he became unwell and developed pneumonia (possibly because of Covid), which prevented him from receiving the vaccine.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 9:26 am You can say that again.

So your basically saying he had to die of something. Thanks for that.Dunners wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 10:17 amI may be wrong, but I gather he missed out on the initial roll-out as they were on holiday in Barbados (which was allowed at that time). Just seen this, his family took him on a freebie all expenses paid month long first class holiday to Barbados courtesy of British Airways, rather than getting him vaccinated.Dunners wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 10:17 amI may be wrong, but I gather he missed out on the initial roll-out as they were on holiday in Barbados (which was allowed at that time).
