Pitch could be it spike as dave did mention about the hard work all the groundsman put in. Sounds like a reason why he would come to the ground early.

But I don’t think it was coincidence those chances fell to Craig. Every time Wilko or Ruel tried to cut inside, or Jobi lined one up, they got bodies round them. They had done their homework alright.
Would love to know what he was on about having to get a taxi to the ground early doors. Maybe they'd assumed that the game would be off and the heroic efforts on the pitch took them by surprise ? Maybe he heard there was to be an inspection and he suddenly decided that he wanted to be there to greet at the ref (that would be in character)?
Could have turned up without a mask .arent all those at the.ground
Supposed ro turn up with a mask before they get in & have a temperature check .
Could be his temperature was high as well
Or left his bag/case Or even could have left something else at the hotel
Phone , tablet laptop & needed to pop back & pick it up before the game

Nah - I think the point he was making was he had to come to the ground early, before the team (otherwise he'd have just come on the bus with the players), hence he had to get a taxi. I'm certainly not as bothered about it as he seems to be, tho !

He's clearly doing a decent job, getting that very limited (and no doubt cheap) group of footballers to compete at this level but Christ, imagine having to listen to this every week.
