With Simpson going and Alabi on the list keeping Harrold makes a bit of sense - going to need a very good signing for the third striker though, someone who can compete for a starting spot as nobody has done that in the past two years.
Also pleased to see Janata getting a deal. The way things are going it looks like Brill will be in goal again, I think Sargeant really needs to get some games this year, otherwise he will have the same type of ending as Grainger did. Would be good if he could get some loan games in National League with a recall clause in case Brill gets injured.

I don't think we should have offered Harrold a new deal. Hopefully we can shift Alabi and bring in a new striker.
I like Dayton, not sure he'll be a regular starter next season even if he gets back fit.

I can't see any of the out-of-contract players who have been offered new deals turning them down. So long as they are reasonable deals of course.

Agreed. Try and get Paul McCallum and one other new striker to replace Alabi.

Yes, I'm quite confident as well that they'll accept their new contract offers.

I'm a bit undecided about MacAnuff. I love him to bits and he's been mostly great this season, but he will be 39 next season.
Jobi McAnuff is 37, he will be 38 in November. Only 6 months older than Adebayo Akinfenwa, who's just been offered a new contract at League One Wycombe Wanderers.

Like I said in an earlier post Janata is wanted by a lot of premier league clubs, Chelsea among them. JE rates him highly and I think from what I was told his dad favours him staying here. I hope it’s true.

Agree with the those being let go but surprised Ling and Dayton didn’t join them, for me they are surplus to requirement.
As for Brill I have a source who has told me that JE is keen to sign a new keeper so don’t know how he will fit in next season.

No chance Ling will go as it’s clear from his words and actions that JE loves Ling Jnr.
Orient-Jude any names mentioned for the keeper?

Dayton is definitely a surprise - surely he will not be ready for pre-season.
Would have preferred a bit more pace on the wings. Problem is the person we have with pace is not good at crossing, those who are good at crossing have no pace.
Ling would never be transfer listed. Even though virtually everyone rates Judd ahead of him, I think he'll start the season as first choice.

No, but think Nathan Ashmore would be a great addition - who is currently out of contract at Ebbsfleet.

I think your right there, I think Judd is the better player in every way possible. Well maybe not in rashness which Judd needs to learn to control which comes with age and experience.

Pleased Harold offered a deal. Not had too much game time but when called upon can do a job. I like his type of player. Dayton, a risk but perhaps done enough to warrant a chance. Alabi will go out on loan if he can’t find a club. Shame, never really did much for us but perhaps in a different position could do OK elsewhere. Him and Gorman were poor signings and we did well to be champions despite them not adding much.

Ling is likely to be run ragged in L2. Judd the better prospect if he stays injury free and learns to control himself. RB is a weakness right now.

With the need for 7 subs, it would be good to have two forwards on the bench with a 5th one as cover for injuries etc. So if Alabi goes we may see two strikers being signed. We really need someone who will be threat to Bonne or Koroma's places, which I don't thing Harrold will be.

I think so and he will only get better, especially if he plays in what is his best position, wide left. I think he’s done well playing in the hole, but a fit JDM could play that role well and give us better balance both wide and in the middle.

Nope all done and dusted a while ago. Justin said so in an interview with Dulcet Dave prior to the final.
Was Justin lying then?
What are you going on about? The retained players know who they are, the players being let go know who they are, the players being offered deals know they are wanted and are in negotiations with the club. So I standby what JE said that it’s all done and it has, the club have complied with all their legal responsibilities in respect to informing players.
If I expand upon my point, do you promise you won’t threaten to duff me up again?

Simpson was only a temp thing to get over Koromas injury and Alabi not being good enough to start. I expect Justin to stick to his plan of two players for each position, so four strikers, plus assistance from the kids.
Agreed that this striker coming in needs to be someone who can challenge for a starting place.

If we’re sticking with 5-3-2, which I reckon we will be cos it works around JWMD, then Dayton is ideal as back up for that position.

Didn’t someone post on here previously that 6 youth team players were going to step up to the first team squad, or did I dream that?

Janata, Ogie, Sweeney, Shabani, Sotiriou, Kyprianou I reckon would be part of pre-season for sure and appear in the first-team photo, so technically could be correct.
Think we should be looking at loaning most of them out next year and if we've nothing to play for at the back end of next season then start blooding a few.

7 subs this season so they’ll be able to feature in match day squads.
