If you say so! I’m sure you are right suggesting that during careers collectively covering 50 or 60 years those guys, playing under a variety of different managers using different systems against varying qualities of opponents is irrelevant. Not to mention all that work to get their badges.
Maybe Embleton should seek help from the local newsagent whose been managing his business for 50 years. After all 50 years as a shop manager, don’t get better management experience than that.

Can’t see why we bothered keeping Dayton. Hardly ever seen him have a good game and when he plays it’s like having 10 men playing.

Our coaching team is massively inexperienced. Senda has 12 months experience as a first team coach, Jobi has about the same, if he’s even still considered a coach now he’s playing, Brill, Harold and Lawless don’t even have that much time under their belts.

I cannot work out why we don't have anybody closer to Johnson. Should it be the midfield or one of the players moving from the wings? This means that we are always battling for 50/50 balls, when the ball goes to him, not feeding of him.
Yesterday was a poor game for us. Beaten by a poor error and a fantastic strike. Newport look the part and unless they lose form badly can see them easily in top 3.

The 4 I mentioned have a vast array of experience to be able to input tactical opinion based on their experience through the eyes of a keeper, midfielders and forward. Covers all the bases. There is absolutely no lacking in tactical nous available for Embleton to call upon. Including Ling Snr too should he ask, I’m sure he does. Embleton strikes me as a guy willing to listen and learn.
There is no shortage of tactical nous available and I’m sure Embleton is clever enough to understand all this. The theory if you like.
What you are alluding too I think is something different. Example, I could study football techniques, science, coaching etc for years. Become a world expert etc. Don’t mean I could play despite all that knowledge.
I don’t think it’s a lack of tactical nous, the original point, plenty of that around. But his ability to translate that into a competent, effective playing unit. That ingredient that separates successful managers/Head Coaches from the rest. It’s not tactical nous that is lacking. But the ability to use it perhaps.

It’s surely a combination of tactical nous, the ability to effectively get his message across and the vital ingredient of msn management, getting the best out of a squad, motivation etc.

All about the ability to motivate players and get your message across. That is a real skill. As is being able to use the team to its best advantage.
This whole saga started with the point that Embleton has no tactical nous. I see issues being different from that.
