Likely to be a loan CB who will be used as cover for Coulson, Turley, Happe and Widdowson. Unless the Widdowson not a CB penny drops. Or maybe a lower league CB with potential, the club looking to the future when Widdowson and Coulson move on in June.
Brophy will remain first choice LB with Widdowson picking up the slack and cover
Ling will remain first choice RB with Thomas picking up the slack and cover

I agree with this completely, and when he goes, can he take his Dad with him tooSid Bishop wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:29 pm I think Sam would be far better off to leave the club, he played far better for Dagenham and was not that bad when he first re-joined us.
Too much pressure for him in the situation he has been placed in, confidence is everything in football.

Re: New Defender to Sign...
my crystal ball reveals the new defender will be a 19 year old right back but can also play centre half, who will be on loan from a higher division , who we have been tracking for some time, and unfortunately has a slight injury so will not be able to play until December
After signing we have also found out that he will not be available over the Christmas period because he will be in pantomime - O yes he is !

Agree with you Sid, not just in this case of Ling Junior and Senior, but any case of Father and Son at the same club.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:53 pmI agree with this completely, and when he goes, can he take his Dad with him tooSid Bishop wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:29 pm I think Sam would be far better off to leave the club, he played far better for Dagenham and was not that bad when he first re-joined us.

I used to manage my youngest sons Under 10s team and I used to treat my lad more harshly than he probably deserved because we had parents complaining that my son only started games because I was the Manager.
I just don’t think it works to have the Dad in a position of influence and his child, son or daughter in the team, unless of course the child is head and shoulders above the others, which is always a matter of opinion.

After reading your comment, the very thought of that happening was followed by me saying aloud...''Oh My God'' then I looked again to see who had sent that reply to my comment and low and behold it was.........Omygawd !
In this instance, a very apt name indeed !

Re: New Defender to Sign...
Well I agree with you but it depends on the person concerned. I have seen fawning parents watching their young sons play badly, yet still insist that they were the best players on the park and getting very agitated if their child was substituted or even worse...dropped from the team ! Some fathers/parents are harder on their kids when managing teams, some show favoritism towards their own kids, depends on the individuals ! In fact some parents only run the teams with the pure intention of playing their own kids regardless of if their selection is based on form ! Remember when watching kids teams, how some mothers could get very agitated on the touchline, far more in some cases than the fathers did !! As to treating your own more harshly than the opposition, well when I was managing my teams ( adults ) I passed my refereeing course mainly so that I could step in as a ref when no referee turned up for the game. My team hated me refereeing them because in any 50-50 decision, I nearly always gave the decision against my own team, in those situations you really had to show to be giving no favoritism at all to your own side ! When it came to team selection, I based it purely on form, I often picked a player who I did not particularly get on with over players who might be a friend. When it comes to running any sports team when in Leagues/competitions etc, if you are to be successful, you cannot show any favoritism at all, it should always be based on form and who fits into the side best and NOT be picking your mates above players who are better than they are !Cheshunto wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:40 pmAgree with you Sid, not just in this case of Ling Junior and Senior, but any case of Father and Son at the same club.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:53 pmI agree with this completely, and when he goes, can he take his Dad with him tooSid Bishop wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:29 pm I think Sam would be far better off to leave the club, he played far better for Dagenham and was not that bad when he first re-joined us.

Re: New Defender to Sign...
Either going to play RB with Thomas LB or he'll be in midfield. Him and Cisse would be nice in midfield. He can play at CB but he's too short and inexperienced to be in there.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 9:27 pmI never seen him play
They all say he was good
But it must be. joke
We were supposed to be getting defender
He is a mid field player that played RB
Let see if this is correct
