The commentators joked the other day about “having to share a mic” and not social distancing. Also, the ‘fans’ being allowed in the ground with press passes. Hope the club tighten things up.
We had a couple of people test positive earlier in the year too, it’s not new. Hopefully it’s not serious and they all keep safe.
Even if we're told the game must go ahead I just can't see Spurs wanting to play the game tomorrow and there will be pressure put on for it to be called off. Imagine if a Spurs first team player got seriously ill as a result of their reserves playing little Leyton Orient in a Mickey Mouse cup and the reserve then passing it on to a first team player, or if as a result multiple first teamers were infected along the line and had to miss the next Premier League games. Wrongly, this would generate more of a backlash than if this happened as a result of a game between two teams of the same stature.

Just been confirmed on Sky Sports News that Spurs paid for our squad to be COVID tested as EFL clubs are not required to complete testing.
Many clubs, including Orient, have chosen not to test due to the costs involved.

Competition rules:
5 Non-fulfilment of Fixtures
5.1 A Club which is unable to fulfil its obligation to complete a Competition match in Round One to (and including) Round Four due to either:
5.1.1 that Club’s Player(s) having returned a positive CAT result and self-isolating in accordance with the action plan set out in the Return to Play/Return to Training Protocols resulting in the Club not having a sufficient number of Players to fulfil the fixture; or
5.1.2 any requirements or directions of the UK Government and/or by any public authority,
shall forfeit the fixture, pay the opposing Club’s expenses in accordance with Rule 5.8 and the opposing team shall receive a bye into the next round of the Competition.

Be interesting to see what spurs thoughts will be on being ‘forced’ to play this as they don’t come under the efl jurisdictions

I think they tested when they returned but as soon as the EFL said it was not a requirement, I suspect we haven't been testing.
I gather it costs around £1500 to test a squad and the club just can't afford it.

My understanding is that some testing has been done. R-oss said at the weekend that the players who had been unwell the previous week were not Covid related. However the club as are all League One and Two are under no obligation to test and it's expensive to undergo regular testing.

Again, without sounded like a broken record, surely this is something that that multi billion premier league should be covering for ALL clubs in the pyramid. Good job Spurs agreed to Pay and test O’s 1st team squad ahead of tomorrow’s game, otherwise the situation could have been a lot worse if the game v Spurs and Sat game v Walsall would have been played.

So turns out Spurs paid for us to be tested on Saturday to protect themselves, otherwise we would have had players who were positive playing? Theres no obligation for clubs to do testing, which is mental.
Also means that theres got to be potentially hundreds of elf players playing every saturday who have it and as passing it around.

I was happy with our promising start , looking forward to returning to the stadium , and now it looks like another stop start season that will end up being abandoned as last year

Yep this is just the start, the knock on effect to L2 clubs and also L1 clubs (Plymouth & AFC Dons who played Plymouth on Sat) could finish the season before it starts

Agree with all that. No real surprises that a bunch of young, fit sportsmen could have covid and still be asymptomatic. It would seem almost a racing certainty that there will be much more of it within other EFL clubs. In the meantime, we're likely to lose out according to the rules. What a bloody shame.
