Sometimes they would turn up as a trio and sometimes others would join in. They were part of the early 1970s Ladbroke Grove scene but that is about all.
True after a few beers at the Walthamstow Tech College even Uriah Heep seemed good !!

I saw them at Harlow Town Park and they played three songs and then Twink collapsed over his drum kit stoned out of his head. I saw Vinegar Joe at Walthamstow Tech College and they were pretty good although they were entitled to be as the lead singers were Robert Palmer and Elkie Brooks.

Cooper Temple Clause.

Two bands that never became mainstream as did not have rich parents to help them gain record deals as like the Kooks.

what about the reverse.

Most overated bands

My personal one is Radiohead.

Thom Yorke sounds like he's in agaony when he sings.

Never really understood the appeal of Pink Floyd. Pink Fraud, more like. Dark Side of the Moon, I think, is cartoonish.

I think it was more about their mega-spectacular live shows - rather than their music output.

U2, despite their immense popularity, are also underrated IMHO. Their songs really capture and encapsulate the every day frustrations felt be most people.

Take Sunday Bloody Sunday, for example. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!"

If only Bono wasn’t such a self-effacing chap, who avoids shoving his worthy causes down our throat every bloody minute at all costs, maybe U2 could have made it big.

run radiohead a close second a lot of their output seems like a load of self indulgent b*llocks to me
