Webb galvanised the kids and had them playing OK only to be let down by the senior pros not wanting to play. When Webb got the senior guys onboard and willing to play he selected them and there was more than one occasion that he submitted the team to Beelzebub on a Friday after training (as all Orient managers were instructed to do) only for him to be told 90 minutes. Before the game that so and so wasn't to play today and it was always the senior players.
He was the only manager we had in that era with the balls to go into the boardroom and tell them what was needed. No one was ever going to win with Beelzebub but Webb tried and got the kids doing OK under the circumstances.
Record was marginally beter than that of Omer Riza .
Hardly anything special to be honest.

Possibly worse.
Didnt the staff have no pay during the time
Riza was in charge too ?
As i said DW was very moderately better
than Omer Riza on win percentage garnered
from more games played.
Just to finish Sid more wearing an Omer Riza hat

Re: Danny webb
I did prefer Danny to Ross, as I preferred his managerial style. I also preferred John Sitton to Chris Turner - but i strongly suspect that Ross will have a better career in football (just like Turner) because he is a team person and not an overwhelming character like I'm sure Danny can be.

And I wonder how long Ross Embleton would have survived as a Manager working for Bechetti ? No way would he have lasted anywhere as long as Omer Riza and Danny Webb did.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 1:17 pmOmer Riza faced the same situationSid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 12:47 pmOthers on this forum have explained to you time and again that there were many factors behind Webbs Low win ratio at that time he was in charge, but as usual with yourself, you are just here to play the ''Devils Advocate'' in order to wind up and annoy others. Re: Danny webb
JE was an established manager and would never have even bothered to apply for a job at Leyton Orient at that time period, especially in the circumstances that Danny and Omer had to put up with. As to Russell, well he got out early and went onto a better and higher paid job.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 3:02 pmOr JE Or Russell Slade.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:44 pmAnd I wonder how long Ross Embleton would have survived as a Manager working for Bechetti ? No they don't, they get blamed when they are to blame. For example, when a lousy player is signed like Alabi.

Why are people still crying over this jack the lad? He's more likely to make an appearance on towie than as a manager of a FL club.

So the relevance of Ross & the Italain are irrelevant .
All you have offered is an opinion that ross would not have lasted
Maybe maybe not , but as i said irrelevant with respect to that time.
Why you decided to mention Ross is only a reason you understand with
relation to the bealzebub era .
I just pointed out that danny Webb had a slightly better record than omer riza.
It was ML & JE who were happy with how Ross was JE's no 2 along with KT & NT

Weird , you cannot type in the name of that clown from Italy ‘with all the money’ Whose name begins with Big who ruined the club without it translating into Beelzebub or is it meant to be like that? I am new here!!

Ross is far more experienced than Webb. RE has worked at TH, Norwich, Bournemouth & Swindon . Webb will never manage an EFL club. He has no real playong pedigree & only worked at O's. Much prefer RE

Re: Danny webb
Danny Webb usually played as a defender. He playing experience came from playing 306 games for League and non league clubs, including teams such as Southend Utd, Hull, Brighton, Cambridge Utd, Yeovil Town etc.aylesburyos wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 8:49 am Ross is far more experienced than Webb. The only record I can find of Ross Embletons experiences of playing football is 4 games for Bedford during the 2016 season.
