Out of interest Dis, if Martin Ling left tomorrow how would you rate his success at LOFC as DOF out of 10?

Yes, I thought Prince Harry was trying to keep a low profile. Bit of a commute as well.

I see nothing wrong in giving newly retired players a chance to get on the coaching ladder. They will probably stay in that role before getting a better role elsewhere and then allowing another retired player to fill the role. This is part of the proposition to incoming players that the owners want to be seen to offer.

As part time coach and part time scout I doubt it's breaking the bank (generally speaking scouting is expenses only) it's more the point of it considered those let go and also how many f*cking coaches do we need?!?!

Under Justin it was just nice and simple. That's why it worked.

To be fair under Justin it was;

Manager: JE
Assistant: RE
First Team Coach: DW
Goalkeeping Coach: RO

All we've done is replace those jobs and add a coach to that, but that coach (Jobi) is on a playing contract too. So I don't think its extravagant. It is just inexperienced heavy. Although, Senda has about as much experience as Webb did. Brill has less than Ottley did I think so even then it's maybe not too dramatically different minus the one very obvious difference.

I guess all those shirts, facemasks, and pitchside dinners have helped us meet Harrold's salary.

Pretty non-plussed with this at best.
As others have stated, more "jobs for the boys"

Strikingly similar, albeit on a smaller scale, to what Arsenal have done recently. Kick loyal members of the backroom team onto the dole without a second thought because it "suits them" to spend the money elsewhere. I thought Orient were better than that.

Nothing against Harrold personally; I've no doubt he's a nice bloke, and his lumbering efforts on the pitch bore occasional fruit, but his coaching experience is pretty much nil.
Unless they're grooming one of Harrold/Brill etc to take over from RE, I don't see why we need yet another coach.

Come on Sid, no need for insults.

If you really don’t respect Long’s contributions, time to say it and stop criticising those with the sense to have called it from day 1.

Insults, where was that then ? If you mean where I wrote ''Silly comment'' , well come on, that is very mild compared to many of the things said on this forum !
I have a balanced view on all things in life. I do not think that Embleton is any way the right person to be Manager of Leyton Orient and have said so many times. IMO, Ling ( as I have also stated many times ) initially did a good job in quickly getting players, manager and staff in when we had only a few kids on the books to represent us but now the club has stabilized and with the personal that is already in place now at the club, I feel that his job role is no longer required and it is time for him to move on.

So if Ling’s role was made redundant, who would deal with the contracts, the players agents, the scouting network, the academy etc, etc? I prefer a head coach and his team to coach and improve the individuals in the squad. Plus develop plans to win more games than we lose.

Would it not be fair to argue that if you called it from day one you've maybe got some negative bias if you thought it right from the very beginning?
