fuming that i've pulled a muscle in my back in the warm-up. Had a shot of whiskey though and i'm good to go.

Looking at the warm up throws generally I think most have been on the juice....

Just breaking into a lamppost power supply to set up the live feed.

OK, we are now live on the usual channels.

Looks like I warmed up a bit too early.

OK, setting us off today in balmy conditions is i8uButler, I will publish the qualifying distances in groups of 6 or so. First round qualifying throws are in progress.

The first 6 have been thrown and measured:

c) Disoriented 73,
d) Omygawd 72

Dunners' Jocky Wilson style stance without run up didn't serve him well. Good chuck from Griffin1975 who is celebrating having his name spelled correctly.

Four decent distances there with Constanza looking cool and composed in all green with a strange hat.

Of course, I end up in the javelin group-of-death. Splendid!

These steroids I've been taking were obviously a waste of time

Our final 7 in the qualifying round, first throws are:

Beradogs and Apple Wumble fail to trouble the scorers with poor first efforts and both stepped across the line before they were measured. Apple Wumble looks to be suffering with injury. Last gasp Jonnie Come Lately entrant Admin slings a genuine good 'un. By heck his minders are menacing.

First qualifying round throws are completed. A lack of testing capacity means that there will be no drugs failures today, samples taken are subject to retest in years to come however.

Round 2 of the qualifiers is underway, some big names are struggling already. First 6 throws are:

c) Disoriented 78
d) Omygawd 76
e) Celtient 72
f) StillSpike 75

Max has almost slung it out of the field and Disoriented has made a play for the Semi Finals. Celtient needs to sort out his dealer, those steroids clearly aren't what they are made out to be.

I have had the so-called steroids analysed. Turns it was Horlicks which would probably explain things

Dunners' style looks much more promising now with a Max equally bung. tuffers#1 is struggling, but not by much at present, to add to his medal total and people's favourite and all round hard man BIGRON exits the competition with a foul.

Beradogs saves it with our first 80 metre throw but he is immediately upstaged with a new Games Record 81 metres from Apple Wumble. The whiskey has finally kicked in.

AW must have had a bottle not a glass!

That concludes the qualifying round. Just need a quick double check (sorry,proper scrutiny) and the Semi Final line up will be confirmed. Many thanks to those competitors who exit at the qualifying stage, as I said earlier in the week this is the brutal reality of elite sport but you will have your chance again in the 200m and high jump.

All previous throws are now expunged (what a good word that it), the semi final will see all competitors throwing a further three times. The furthest 6 throws (1 longest throw only per competitor to count) will mean entry to our Grand Final and a chance to feature in the Boarding Olympics medal table.

A real mixed bag here but with only 3 additional scores to count to add to the 60 metre allowance i8uButler throws impressively. 3 rounds this time mean that there is plenty of time to catch up.

I'm now in training for the next event!
