I see the same people who soiled themselves with anger that the heir to the throne managed to get a Coronavirus test are again outraged that the Prime Minsiter has managed to be tested after showing symptoms

If you say so. By your reckoning almost every other leader in the world has failed too. Fair enough. I guess you’ve chosen to personally lock down since January. After all, you knew what was going on. Well done.BoniO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 2:46 pmWow, my bullshit detector just went off the scale. So, NO, it's nothing to do with the election. Sorry. I know that is a simple premise that you'd love to believe, but it's wrong. You're wrong. I wouldn't wish it on any politician just because I don't agree with their policy.
Grow up people.
But some people on here will continue to slate him no matter what he does because he gave Corbyn and Labour a damn good thrashing. Be like me and just smile at all the sour grapes thrown in his direction. Tantrums of the defeated.
I, like you, would not wish harm on any politician. Even those whose politics I disagree with.

Re: Boris has the virus
Where did I say almost every other leader has failed? You're back to your old tricks of making sh*t up again. In fact my point has always been that Boris has failed to take notice of and learn from some of the more successful governments around the World. No I didn't lock down in January thank you, which is another bizarre and groundless piece of nonsense from you, again. The point is that you'd expect Boris and the government to react and start making plans based on what the WHO were saying by the end of Jan. But don't just accept that from me - even though I'm clearly more aware than you - but take a look at the link below.Redline wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 6:45 pmIf you say so. But how do we know he has COVID 19 and not another Coronavirus like the common cold?
Can we expect to see the results published by PHE Colindale? The official definitive testing lab for COVID 19.

Give Boris a break, he could hardly make a start on this back in February when he spent the whole month on holiday.BoniO wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 3:39 pmHe didn't need a magic wand to react by the end of Jan and start to prepare. He deserves all the criticism he's getting for screwing that up as our NHS staff are now working without the protective gear they should have. That was almost criminal. Maybe you should ask some NHS staff if they agree with you about how he's doing a fantastic job. I'd put some protective gear on first - oh crap, there isn't any.........Redcard wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 3:30 pm Bonio, what do you think politicians have a magic wand. Do you really think they can suddenly conjure up millions of testing kits for a virus which didn’t pre exist , or suddenly acquire tens of millions of aprons , masks and ventilators.
He is doing a fantastic job in removing the financial burden imposed on not just the employed but the self employed , and making a serious attempt to alleviate rough sleeping.
O.k. So it took a life threatening virus to bring about many of these long overdue actions, but this epidemic has given us all a kick up the arse. Perhaps as a society when all is done we will re evaluate our priorities and ask ourselves if it is morally right that footballers, top boxers, golfers , musicians, and even executives earn millions while nhs workers ect earn a pittance.

I can’t believe anyone is defending the jumped up pompous and clueless upstart (Boris not Bonio). His actions have made the situation WORSE and we are now all reaping what HE sowed.
What part of that is hard to understand?

Not sure who Bonio is. Boris is a tit without question but I don't blame him for the current situation to be fair. I'm pretty sure he has no say in anything regarding the governance of the country, he's just happy to have fulfilled his lifelong ambition to be PMDisoriented wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 8:56 pm I can’t believe anyone is defending the jumped up pompous and clueless upstart (Boris not Bonio). Wrong again! I’ll defend Boris. He takes advice from the experts and follows it. We all know two groups of experts will have different solutions to the same problem.
Get of his back and support the Government and our country. Now is not the time to be attempting to score cheap points. Guaranteeing 80% of income makes the situation WORSE? Are you not reaping the benefits he has sown?
Restricting payments to those who need it most (not payable to the so called rich) is surely welcome news to you.
Even Ed Balls has publically supported Boris.

Re: Boris has the virus
There are some seriously sad people on this board when it comes to the PM and the Torres. Now is not the time to be trying to score political points. However, some context is required. The PM takes advice from his senior medical and sciencentific advisors. He has taken financial advice and has put in place a system to try and help the country as best the government can.
It is entirely sensible to lessen the load on the NHS, it is unprecedented the help being given financially to the whole country and finally all rough sleepers are or will be off the streets by today I think it is.
I think he is doing a good job, I think he government are doing a good job and I beleive that they are trying to do the best by everyone in this country. Some on here need to grow up.
Here is the latest You gov poll showing the pm is at his highest rating. He must be doing something right through the country to have got to this level.

Re: Boris has the virus
Nearly every country is seeing the poll rating for their leaders go up at the moment, no matter how effective the response to the virus. Trump is getting the highest poll ratings he's had since being in office, despite clearly bungling things from the outset. Wouldn't take Johnson's public support as an endorsement of performance.
If we escalate to an Italy or Spain situation though, I can't imagine Johnson will be secure in his position for long. Sunak is already gunning for his job.

There’s a name for this, where ratings improve regardless of what the leader is actually doing.
