Bonio, what do you think politicians have a magic wand. Do you really think they can suddenly conjure up millions of testing kits for a virus which didn’t pre exist , or suddenly acquire tens of millions of aprons , masks and ventilators.
He is doing a fantastic job in removing the financial burden imposed on not just the employed but the self employed , and making a serious attempt to alleviate rough sleeping.
O.k. So it took a life threatening virus to bring about many of these long overdue actions, but this epidemic has given us all a kick up the arse. Perhaps as a society when all is done we will re evaluate our priorities and ask ourselves if it is morally right that footballers, top boxers, golfers , musicians, and even executives earn millions while nhs workers ect earn a pittance.

He didn't need a magic wand to react by the end of Jan and start to prepare. He deserves all the criticism he's getting for screwing that up as our NHS staff are now working without the protective gear they should have. That was almost criminal. Wrong again! I’ll defend Boris. He takes advice from the experts and follows it. We all know two groups of experts will have different solutions to the same problem.
Get of his back and support the Government and our country. Now is not the time to be attempting to score cheap points. Guaranteeing 80% of income makes the situation WORSE? Are you not reaping the benefits he has sown?
Restricting payments to those who need it most (not payable to the so called rich) is surely welcome news to you.

The PM takes advice from his senior medical and sciencentific advisors. He has taken financial advice and has put in place a system to try and help the country as best the government can.

It is entirely sensible to lessen the load on the NHS, it is unprecedented the help being given financially to the whole country and finally all rough sleepers are or will be off the streets by today I think it is.

Nearly every country is seeing the poll rating for their leaders go up at the moment, no matter how effective the response to the virus. Trump is getting the highest poll ratings he's had since being in office, despite clearly bungling things from the outset. Wouldn't take Johnson's public support as an endorsement of performance.

If we escalate to an Italy or Spain situation though, I can't imagine Johnson will be secure in his position for long. Sunak is already gunning for his job.
