Cash is better, if you want to keep costs down.

Cards - just increase prices by around 2%.

So for every £100 we spend on cards, the banks, PayPal etc get at least £2.

Take note, people!!! Your 'convenience' makes the economic parasites richer.

There is also another angle: as somebody who has done bucket collections for a small local charity, donations to us have reduced over recent years. Two factors account for this, IMO: fewer people carry cash but also significantly people feel that they have less money to give away.) Bucket collectors need coins rather than a swipe on your card.

Imagine a Power Failure in any.part of the world
No Electric so your electronic payments are well & truly f*cked
It's almost impossible to use cash in Sweden and Denmark now. A lot of bank branches are now closed and those that are still open are cashless.

Usually keep a few coins and a tenner on me, but mostly use a card. I find my bank card contactless chip often stops working after a few months suffering wallet fatigue and I have to revert to chip & pin until I get round to bothering ordering a replacement. Have got it loaded on the phone, too, but haven’t ever got round to trying that yet.

I notice some ' Artists ' performing in train stations have cash machines for people to make donations to them 🤔🤔

I leave tawdry things like payments to the butler or servants.

Its far to tawdry a subject for me to be troubled about

Or put another way, I never have any cash ( whether £sterling or available on my cards)

I have a pay as you go card as well. When I was going away on my exotic trips I always believed in carrying more than one card.

I save money on it and yes I know it costs money to use...especially when abroad.

I would rarely use my card at a cashpoint I don't know even local to me but more when I am at work and rarely use it in shops unless I can be sure it's ok.

quite an interesting topic.
this country could be cash less within 15years.
personally I only use cash never use a card even though I have one.
my wife uses her card all the time and very rarely uses cash.
The "big picture" issue around this is about exclusion of sections of society, normally the poorest. Banks are very reluctant to let people who either are on benefits or earn via the cash economy set up bank accounts, yet society moves on regardless. Banks branches are closing daily due to advances in technology, yet replacement cashpoints predominantly charge you to get your own money. I hate capitalism!

To answer the basic question, I hardly ever pay cash and don't have a penny on me at the moment.

Cash is king and always will be, can you imagine the cuffle when your wife checks your payment record on your card and spots the Sauna payment. It would fair ruin your weekend

For that to happen I would need to have succumbed to consumer pressure and have purchased a machine in the first place.

Here is a man who would not take it anymore. A man who stood up against the scum, the c**ts, the dogs, the filth, the s**t. Here is a man who stood up. I'm not letting those fuks rule my life

That is a revolution as in going around in circles and like most revs on vinyl will get stuck. Frequently.
