I only saw the second half last night and that performance typified Orient - and Wright in particular. It was all very neat, pretty on the eye, without ever really being truly effective.
Wright specifically failed to really come up with anything incisive - which is probably why Bradford sidelined him. FWIW I think JE had a plan for Orient based around Wright. It probably involved more threatening players out wide than we have at present. If we can come up with that little bit more to our possession game (speed of play being part of it) then we could be more than just decent.

Probably our best all round performance of the season if you ignore the Sergeant howler and Embleton's decision to go five up top on 75 minutes, decimating a midfield that bossed Crewe all game.
Sergeant - 5 - felt for the kid, needs to be stood down for a few games to get his confidence back
Brophy - 7 - was always a threat down the left with JMD and solid at the back
Happe - 7 - screwed up for the 2nd when we only had two defenders on the pitch but was solid and his distribution was excellent
Ekpiteta - 7 - has got his mojo back and the combination with Happe looks rock solid
Marsh - 7 - aside from struggling in the first 10 minutes when they overloaded on his side was always willing to get forward, would love to see him alongside Cisse in the middle
JMD - 6 - blew a bit hot and cold today
Clay - 6- ran around like a nutter and should have scored early on
Wright - 7 - benefited from the work Cisse was putting in
Cisse - 9 - looked a cut above this level and hopefully he ran out of steam after 70mins rather than picked up an injury. We lost the momentum when he went off
Soteriou - 7 - would have rated him higher but he wasn't as effective in the 2nd half as he was in the 1st. Brings something to the team and deserves to start
Wilkinson - 6 - only okay tonight and he is much better. Needs a few goals
Angol - 6 - little impact in the 25 minutes he played
Harrold - even less impact but very few crosses came in so can't really be blamed
5 up top ?.....
And we still couldn't score. My relegation anxiety disorder rating is climbing fast!

I didn’t t see the game only reading the comments on here plus his interview which he clearly states those words. If they went long long all game and that’s the way they play for example that is in essence an identity, is it not?
I meant the home game, Porter didn’t play last night. Just saying they can change it up.

Totally accurate.
JE obviously got the best out of Wright at Gillingham where he scored goals by the bucket load. Presumably he wasn’t used in that same capacity hence Bradford fans being happy to see the back of him. And he clearly isn’t being used effectively here either.

Bingo, been saying this for ages. He is not a defensive midfielder where we’ve played him quite a lot. On Sat he was where I’d like to see him more, in the final third and providing the assist for our second goal. It’s not hard work to put your best players in their best positions and then provide a template on how you want to play the game.

We've played him offensively more often - as we did last night and on Saturday - and he's still putting in totally anonymous performances.
It's how we're playing generally, not just the position he's in, if that makes sense?

Agreed, I’d have dropped a long time ago. However, get him in more advanced positions and ask him to link the play up and create the passes for assists. Our play is a bit haphazard, again it’s better than it was say a month ago or so. Like I said on the interview thread we need a settled pattern of play and a true formation and work the bugs off that.

Not even assists, want him getting in the box late on the end of decent balls in and scoring bundles.
