Re: First Orient game attended...
5th February 1972. Leicester City v Leyton Orient in the FA Cup at Filbert Street. Went there straight after school finished (Saturday morning) and arrived just in time for the 3pm kick off. If my memory serves me well Leicester were in the top 4 in Division 1 whereas we were near the foot of Division 2. However, we won 2-0 and in the next round we beat Chelsea 3-2. I was not there for that but remember it vividly on Match of the Day.

My dad took me to Os v Liverpool March 1962 score was 2 -2 in front of over 25000 crowd. I remember left back Eddie Lewis scoring a screamer from about 30yards

The Rochdale 8-0 was on Tuesday 20 Oct 87.
The annoying thing about the Doncaster game was that they had plenty of time to score the 9th and eclipse the record. 20 mins I recall.

My first game was also against Leicester in the cup the following year , i believe the late great Gordon Banks was in goal for them , we won 3-2 and I was immediately hooked.KC & sunshine band wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 2:20 pm FA cup round 5

I can remember the excitement of going to the match, wearing a blue and white scarf and a rosette with the FA cup on - lots of rattles. Its funny cos I can remember that but sometimes cant remember what I done yesterday !

Re: First Orient game attended...
Wasn't there an earlier dated thread on the same subject.
As I said in the earlier thread, I can't remember the first game I attended, but the first game I remember was Boxing Day 1969 beating Luton. And many good (and bad) memories since then.

Mark Sale sent off for Mansfield.Writtlered wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 1:00 pm 1997 Orient 2-1 Mansfield, was a penalty and a sending off, and remember there being no South stand, just a load of boarding behind the goal, one of the Mansfield defenders sent Carl Griffiths flying into the boarding to
Get sent off and give away the pen! Stood at the front of the east stand. Must of been 8 at the time, never looked back this is my 22nd year of being a season ticket holder
Think we might have been the only football league game on that day, with all the other matches postponed, albeit our pitch was definitely frozen!

Re: First Orient game attended...
First game for me was Palace away in the FA CUP 5th Round in 82.
0-0 draw.
Didn't go to the replay but cried myself to sleep after watching Midweek Sports Special and witnessing Ian Moores clearing the South Stand with a penalty.

19 October 1991
Orient 1-1 Bournemouth
Remember like it was yesterday my grandfather telling me that morning that he was taking me to the football. Stood on the terrace in the front of the east stand, in what is now the away end. Followed that up with a 2-0 defeat at home to stoke. Great memories!!

1985 at home to Derby, think Chris Jones might have scored and Rhys Wilmot let a soft one in!

I was a steward in those days and sat a few seats away from £earn in the East stand directors box that day , no leaky roof in those days Scott Mgleish and Colin West got the goals I believe.lordgriff wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 8:24 pmMark Sale sent off for Mansfield.Writtlered wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 1:00 pm 1997 Orient 2-1 Mansfield, was a penalty and a sending off, and remember there being no South stand, just a load of boarding behind the goal, one of the Mansfield defenders sent Carl Griffiths flying into the boarding to

Leyton Orient 3 - 0 Oldham 1966
I don't remember much about the match, but all I can remember was my Dad saying "I told em Oldham" all the way home.

Re: First Orient game attended...
what a great memory
I was working at the os giving out the small white programmes. This was a early kick off and got to the ground early in complete fog
Peter Allen scored a screamer , and left back for Luton was Malcolm Mcdonald
The crowd was about 17000 and we ran out of programmes
After this win we started to believe it might be our season
