Will be a shame if he's gone. The most likely to be a successful manager imo and probably should be in the hot seat now.

Explains why there was an opening for Brill.

It's all very pretty but pretty ineffective too

Another save by the keeper from Brophy shot from distance
Have they had any chances??

Last bit of play kinda sums up where we're at so far. Nice link-up play Sotiriou out to Marsh, onto Wilkinson. Decent cross to an empty space in the middle of the box.

Need Sotiriou, Brophy or JMD to run into the box at pace and take a dive for a pen ;)

Anyways, it’s just about the best starting xi we could have gone with. Almost a must win. But glad I’m not there!
Because he told Embleton that's where he wants to play and the latter being strong manager that he is says "yup, sure". Came from one of the rambling manager interviews I think.

Can't see it being 4-4-2, more likely this...

Marsh RB, Brophy LB
Clay / Cissé / Wright narrow CM
JMD left
Wilkinson right
Sotiriou chasing shadows down the middle
''Sotiriou chasing shadows down the middle''
More like Sotiriou being as he is a 6'5'' giant of a centre forward, leaping like John Toshack and outjumping all the defenders as the accurate crosses rain in from the wing areas, thus to score or lay off the ball to the close by attacking midfielders just playing in the pockets of space behind him behind
him, ahh what a wonderful vision !
Has he grown from 5 ft 11 recently ?

A free kick Sargeant held onto fairly comfortably and a shot from distance. At the same time our passing around the back makes me a tad nervous.

That free kick landed inside the 6 yard box, why didn't Sam come for it?

HT 0-0, had to scramble a loose ball in the box away right at the end of the half. One of those games where it feels the first to score will win it by a single goal.

Decent in as much as some nice passing but aside from long range efforts no goal threat. Pretty much signature of this squad as it stands.

Or sol going from Southend and he is going there
The same bias towards Embleton that caused him to have a bust up with Fletcher?

If he has been sacked I doubt it is because he is going to Southend - we'd just let him go without sacking him.

I've only even seen Toshack as a manager and the thought of him leaping is mind blowing
Ok, a few highlights here of John Toshack playing for Liverpool. John and Kevin Keegan were a great combination together. A great headed goal here for Toshack as he out-jumps Jack Charlton to score from a free kick e.g 0:44 !

Under the cosh here start of the half. Marv got away with one on that pen shout, wasn't aware of man coming in behind him didn't clear and seemed to catch the guy.

Based on the away fixture, right until the last minute of stoppage time. Orient, not so much so.

Webb has form for walking out if something ain't right on principle.

Bit disappointing nothing has been communicated by the club.

I like him, so I hope it is a case of him just being sick or something.

He’s a man on principle, we know that from the FB era as he was just about the only one to make a stand.

As we know, if you don’t fit into the clique then you are gone so doesn’t surprise me.
