We’ve had a decent spell this past 5 years of good youth players with some now playing in the premier league. It would be great to hear what the youth section boss thinks, as it’s played and hopefully will continue to play a good part in our future growth as a team and club.

He was signed as the club saw something in him that they believed they could tap into. They were looking st his form previously at Chester and believed that they could extract that and possibly more from james. It didn't work out and he will end up in the pile deemed "speculative punt" .
It's just one of those signings that don't quite work out. To play to his strengths everything would have had to change and as Justin lead us to being league winners his style, formation and tactics proved over 46 games to be superior to anyone else.
That's the way football is sometimes, I wish James well if he leaves.

He wasn't brought in as a punt. He came here to make a strike partnership with Macca.
Same with Gorman. He wasn't a specualtive punt. These two were our main (and only) signings in the summer of 18. F**k knows how Justin managed to win promotion on the back of that.

We were promoted because the five at the back tactic made us very hard to score against and because we had two decent forwards who ran themselves into the ground most weeks.
